Which one would you print?

Your top two have a much better exposure for the egret, which in turn makes the background darker. I would use the top two and lighten up the background a bit. and a series with all three sounds great... starts and finishes the story. Nice photos.

I would print both, but if I absolutely could only print one it would be the second photo. That's because of the water splashing.

Both are great photos. The second one is special.

Both are beautiful You could print them both as "one" photo. Even stupid me figured out how to do that. And when you can't decide, maybe you shouldn't have to?

Sorry, over cooked the three images. Here is an example that I think will print well. I am having trouble loosing the shoreline separation and detail resulting in a murky background. The white birds seem OK but the background is proving a challenge especially in a small size where you can not see the detail.

These are the images that I printed as 11X14's. Once I have them framed and hung somewhere I will get a picture of the group and post it.

The final images had some fill light, changed the tone curve slightly, lightened the image about 1/3 stop, added a small touch of black, and corrected for full sun.

Thank you all for your assistance through this process. Your input has been very helpful and did encourage me to print the complete series.

I'm glad I waited and didn't jump in when you presented the other version of all three... 'cause this is MUCH MUCH better than the over-cooked-to-death version!

I was sittin' here like... "WOA!"
He's a professional and of a caliber wayyy above this! lol

Excellent work, as always, Mr. Sund
(and I was votin' for all three, as well *grins*

Thank you, I was having problems getting the intensity that I was looking for and it took me a while, plus a lot of small prints to work it out. What looks good or bad on the screen does not always look the same when you place the image on paper.

If you think it looks great on screen when you print it you can be sorrily disappointed.

I would crop the right side off each one and then print all three and display from left to right.
