Understand. Only an option to consider where feasible.

Humor aside, that, right there, is one of the most common problems we encounter...heavy handed users doing shit like that.

I have used the Epson Stylus Photo1400 for five years with no problems. I am a serious hobbyist and print my own work for sale so it is used heavily. I'm not sure this model is still available and dread the day I will have to get another printer because this one is so very reliable.

I've also used an Epson 1400 and process my own pictures and CD covers. It died with several problems within a few days. Considering the cost of ink (which I have always purchased refurbished ink sellers) I looked around and found the Epson Artisian 1430 is almost the same printer, has the same features and uses the same ink.

I too have the Epson 1430 I only use Epson inks and buy them when they have their inks on sale. The inks are expensive but the resulting printd are good. I think Epson is having a sale on printers now.

My Epson Printer just died from paper jam errors - and there was no paper jam. Looking for a replacement - not the highest priced. Always have been very pleased with Epson but just don't know what model to look at. Any suggestions?
Gypsy, I'm sure you will always be pleased with Epson, I was.
But are you stuck on Epson, or are you open to suggestions?

If you can get a compressed air can it is worth blowing through the paper feed and the sensor. Without knowing the Epson model it is not possible to be more specific. We frequently see paper errors when using low quality paper which produces a lot of debris; a good squirt over the feed area usually deals with the problem.
Artisan 730 is the Epson model. Thanks, I will try that. I've been over the printer quite a few times now and followed trouble-shooting hints from the website. I can not locate anything in the path of the paper. I was thinking that repair could possibly be more expensive than a new printer. I don't think they make the Artisan730 anymore.
Has anyone had any experience with the Epson Expression Photo XP-850 model?
Yup, know the feeling. And it only always happens when you're in a hurry to do something important.

It is the Epson Artisan 730 and I've been very happy with the color prints it produces. Good for what I've wanted and better than a lot of what I've seen from others. I rarely need anything larger than the 8.5 x 11 size. I saw recommendations on this forum for Epson 3800 but that's a little more than I'd like to spend right now. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.
I have an Epson 1400 new in the box never been opened, I bought it a some years back when I purchased my 50D, but never thought that I would be printing enough to keep the heads clean so I never opened it... It prints 13 X 19 high quality photo prints...

Would sell for $200.
Had the same problem with an Epson 3520, which I used pretty heavily (non-photography) for several years. Did a lot of research, recognized that I had a common problem, followed numerous suggestions, all to no avail. After spending several hours, I spent $110 to replace it. Should have saved my time and effort and replaced earlier.
