I did a similar thing for a buddy of mine who's mother passed away and wanted some images of her for the funeral. He cried too. I bet you got some brownie points from your supervisor for that bit of work. It was probably a labor of love for you - at least it was for me when I helped my friend.

I was asked to do this sort of thing once. A guy had two sons and his own father had passed away. They never had a picture with all them.
I was given three separate images to scan and combine.
Good thing all were taken with Rembrandt lighting. Took about a week of editing to get it right and give the digital image to the wife, who was my supervisor.
She printed the image and framed it.
Her husband, a bodybuilder built like a young Arnold Schwarzenegger, cried when he got it.

Shakey,

That is AWESOME!!!! I love that you got each young man about the same size. It really looks like it was done professionally. I really wish I had original photos that I could have scanned in so they would all be in focus but I think you did a fantastic job with what you had to work with.

Thank you so much for your time and effort. I can't wait to show my friend. You have no idea how much I appreciate you doing this for me.

Thank you, Dodie. It was a pleasure to do it, but it did make me feel so sad that these fine young men had gone.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I sent the photos to my friend and was waiting to hear from him. I found out from one of my coworkers that he is serving with his Army Reserve unit this weekend so I should hear from him tomorrow. I have been showing both photos and have had lots of oohs and aahs for them.

Thanks for keeping me informed, Dodie. Oohs and aahs sound good. You are a pleasure to help out.

Hi Shakey,

I hope you are still monitoring this thread. The reason you haven't heard from me is that there has been a lot going on regarding this project. My friend contacted the families of Moon and Loredo for better photos. Moon's responded, Loredo's hasn't at this point. Also, the bride and groom were having a debate over which photo to use. He wanted yours in keeping with what he had seen at events he attended. She liked Doug's. So the debate went took a couple of days but they have decided on both. Your's will be at the reception at the KIA table and Dougs in the foyer of the church near the guest book on a "Table of Honor".

There are three things I would ask you to do:

1. Replace Moon's photo with the better version

2. Change the font to French Script MT bolded and italicised and make increase the size to equal 12 point in normal font. This one comes out smaller than normal.

3. Change the dates so they are day month year. That was my fault. Just the civilian in me to put in month/day/year.

My friend and I really, really appreciate this.

3. Add in the quote in the same font.

Sorry this is an almost exact copy of the message I sent to Shakey but it's late, I'm tired and my fingers are not listening to my brain.

My friend and I really, really appreciate this.
