tiff is a different format and there are no dumb questions except for the ones that are not asked.

6 out of 10. On my Toshiba thrive tablet. I also have real bad macular in my right eye. So I guess this proves I can guess pretty good.

The test I took had jpeg and png and had nothing to do with raw files.
Stef C I shoot raw because it allows me to recover blown highlights where as jpeg doesn't. Raw simply put contains more information than jpeg. The drawback is that you have to process raw files and the camera processes jpeg.

It's about lossy vs. lossless. RAW files are lossless, JPG files are lossy. I think there is some connection there, don't you?

I guess I meant, can I store raw instead of .dng?

7 out of 10 and I have a cataract in my right eye :)

It seems that the idea on saving compressed files is to save hard drive space. Hardly relevant any more (to the average hobbyist anyway)since hard drive prices are so low now.

Fun experiment anyhow...

9 out of 10, but I was just guessing on some of them. Pretty close.

9 out of 10 with old eyes and a set of "readers". Definitely made me more aware of the similarities than the differences.
