Right, you may be able to lift some detail in the bird with the Contrast and shadow slider, it worth having a muck about with it

Geoff

I'll try that. Thanks very much Geoff!

Good shots, especially the one in flight. Usually, when I see an RWBB on a post, by the time I get the camera to my eye the bird has gone.

Hello Walt! Thanks.....that has happened to me so many times. :)

I really liked the detail in No. 2. It is most interesting but all shots are really nice. Thanks for sharing.

They are super, Lamar! Have never captured one in flight from that angle. And #3 is perfect timing.

Here's a few shots I got of a Red-winged Blackbird. I've always had trouble getting these right. These are the best so far. What do you think? Comments are appreciated.

At first glance I would have chosen #2 but on the download #1 is far the best especially because of the lighting on the feathers but mainly the eye is more prominent. That said all are good captures for a black bird

to think of the hours I have invested in these birds and the pitiable results I have achieved, I can appreciate the time and effort it takes to capture these wonderful images!

I like all three but #3 made me laugh. I have a bunch of these birds near my house. when they are happy or angry, they sound like a bottle rocket. Gary
