Here's a few shots I got of a Red-winged Blackbird. I've always had trouble getting these right. These are the best so far. What do you think? Comments are appreciated.

I personally like them all. Photographing blacks/whites are difficult at best when in the field under quick response conditions. If I have time I always bracket my shot and then make the necessary corrections in post processing. I shoot exclusively in the Raw format so I have the maximum information to work with....

Excellent set Lamar and I agree with my previous poster black and whites are so difficult to do but you dit it.

Good shots, especially the one in flight. Usually, when I see an RWBB on a post, by the time I get the camera to my eye the bird has gone.

Right, you may be able to lift some detail in the bird with the Contrast and shadow slider, it worth having a muck about with it

I think you got it, Sunfish. The blacks are very near perfect, and that ain't easy.....
