Jerry,
Politics is definitely not a good forum especially if someone is a conservative or Republican.

I would hate to see this board go that direction. I have quit two other forums just for that reason. So if your taking votes, Please NO Politics, Religion, or anything else that will bring out the nasty side of folks. It gets heated enough here and we're supposed to be somewhat on the same page. Taking great photographs and helping others do the same! There's tons of those other forums out there already.

Some people do well under a dictatorship.

We are a photography forum and I think we should stick to photgraphy related items. I like the list Nikonian72 came up with. They are all photography related and we probably all have an interest in at least one or two of the topics.

I am not sure we need to do what is being suggested. It seems to me that folks have a problem and come to the discussion. Be it filters or camera type, or flash or post processing or whatever. It is kinda fun to come to the computer and learn what others are have trouble with and the answers suggested. It is like a book of short stories rather than a novel.

The question is, "Why do political discussion panels denegrate into name calling?"

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I wasn't tipping my hand left or right. It's just that I've seen what such discussions can do to the morale of a forum.
