I have all of his DVDs. Some classical 'purists/snobs' look down their noses at him, but he has introduced millions to quality classical music, with his light hearted approach. Yes, Andre & his team are entertainers, but they are also some of the best classical musicians in the world. Thank you for sharing.

My granddaughter wanted a violin, so I bought her one. A student instrument that she could play till she found out if she really liked it. She is the one that introduced me to this violinist. I have most of his DVDs and never get tired of him.

Thanks' for the comment and looking and I do consider you a friend.

Thank you for bringing up the subject, but I much prefer this:

After listening to classical music for many years, I enjoy trying to recall the name of the piece and/or the composer. Try it, you'll like it! Begin with Four Seasons by Vivaldi, and then Beethoven Symphonies.

Ahh yes the high classics, I took piano lessons for eight years. My teacher would only allow me to play the classics. I am well aware of Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven, Loewe, Strauss, Riquier and many more. You are right when you say that I'll like it because it is something I enjoy doing like you. Thanks for posting Beethoven, one of my favorites.

To be clear, this isn't classical music, but a symphonic version of pop music.
Though as mentioned - it is a nice way to introduce folks to the classics like Bach, Beethoven, etc .

"When it comes down to it, there are only 2 kinds of music - good and bad" - Duke Ellington :)

Andre Rieu and the rest are incredible. I love to listen to him (and them) play. Thanks for sharing this site as it has renewed my interest. The Rose is one of my favorite songs.

I did not say the original post was classical music.
Re-read what I said.

Beethoven's Sixth most emphatically was, however. And I don't listen to pop.

I agree wholeheartedly - he has destroyed the snobbery that often is around those who listen to classical music but think it is too good for the masses.

he is a brilliant musician and his shows are spectacular and his orchestra so obviously enjoy being with him and sharing in his love for classical music - he has done for classical music what Michael Flatley did for Irish Dancing.

Long may he continue to bring us enjoyment and continue to encourage many thousands to listen to classical music rather than much of the rubbish which is being offered up as entertainment.

I live in a Winter Texan Resort Park, every Friday they have a jam session. They have a big sign that says 'If It Ain't Country It Ain't Music.' The manager of the park does a terrific Frank Sinatra interpretation, they wouldn't let him sing unless he did a country song. Frankie didn't sing county.
