Out of Frame

In the not too distant past there have been several pictures posted in which the subject--train, bridge, bird, tree branch, whatever--appears to be coming out of the frame. What is that process called and where can I find some information as to how it is done?

Thanks for the help.

Thank you for your help. I was wondering how that was done. I'm so happy to have another great play idea. Now to see if I can get it right and impress the great masses!
