Early this week I had my first visit with a dental group. The waiting room walls were covered with beautiful landscape photos of Italy.
The Dr. that examined me after the teeth cleansing was the photographer. I told him they were all perfect photos in every respect. he said he spends more time working with different pp programs than his dentistry practice.
The question is this: they look like post cards from the 30s & 40s. Good contrast & matte finish. I have seen similar ones on the hog.
There was one member who posted some civil war reenacting photos on the hog who I think used the same process only his colors were in lighter hues. I have a civil war series of books that look like his photos. I cautioned him about taking photos of
of FARBEE re-enactors , you know, wearing none period eye wear & such. He had great shots but they were ruined because the subjects were FARBEE.
OK! Let me get back to the process. I don't have any other way to describe it but I was so taken pleasantly aback from the photos the doctor took that I would like to try it.
I am from "the show the picture the way you took it school" but sometimes I play around with such programs as Sony PMB, Microsoft picture it 10 and Elements 8 & 11.
So I hope some one can tell what the process it is because I don't have a clue. I am sorry I don't have any photos of what I am asking. Any help would certainly be appreciated. Oh yes, I didn't ask him because I thought I would be imposing on him and they do charge quite a bit per hour.
I am new to Lightroom but it has many presets that simulate antique color, B&W, and sepia looks. When you have a photo open in the develop module, you can scroll the presets and see if any provide the look you wanted.
You know you would get more answers on your thread if the title was more descriptive...
I need help on a subject... Meaning of life? How to paint a house?
Just saying.

Clearly the title was enough to get you to open the thread as it was me. One train of thought would be if the title was more specific you would get someone respond that knew the answer but less users taking a look. The other would be if the title is non specific there is a good chance a lot of users will take a look with a good chance someone may know the answer.
Just saying

I took a look at your question, unfortunately I cannot help you but if you do not find the info you requested try Google, it is my go to place for answers and it rarely disappoints. Would love to see the results once you have processed your pictures using the process you have described. Cheers

The vagueness of the question lead me here to help the op formulate a better title for the next time. I j\have no interest reading the question due to the title alone and not helping on it even if I have an answer.
If you take the time to read the instructions from the admin a thread title should not be vague.
I like that CResQ. I don't know of any other way to describe it other old post cards. Not sepia or antique. I have seen in the past a lot printed materials that came from Europe that had a similar look. I am sorry I am so vague on the subject. Maybe some will say something that can improve my discription you know, like a clue. I thank anyone who takes the time to look and comment what ever the comment may be.
Thanks again CResQ. I will due just that. Maybe they will have a photograph that looks like what I am talking about.

You are very welcome, I wish you luck.
Thanks for looking at the tilte Ron. I am being vague because it is vague to me. CResQ had a great suggestion.
OK! Here is what I am talking, kind of. Old prints but naturally with digital they would be more sharp and better contrast and detail.
Thanks again CResQ.

Thank you for your input Johel2. The Dr. did say he uses Lightroom. I don' have it but it is food for thought.
Thanks Lighthouse, I will check it out.
