It seems that mirror less has the potential to outperform DSLR in every way and cost less, too, but as far as I can see, we have not reached that state yet. I consider myself to be fairly serious about photography, but I will not make the switch until there is a mirror less lens lineup that can seriously compare to Canon's DSLR selection, and until someone makes a mirror less camera to outperform the Canon EOS 1DX.

You have a Canon EOS 1DX?

This qualifies as a stupid question:
Questions that can be answered with a scant amount of research and less than a minute of time.

You could have easily answered that (he does have one) but either you didn't look it up or didn't know how to.

2 years on this forum and still a newbie at heart.

Perhaps... I'm sure you're correct but it's not a through the lens view finder like a dslr.

Although not like a DSLR, it actually is through the lens - unlike for example, the view finder on a rangefinder camera.

It's amazing how they can manufacture an EVF TTL without a mirror.:)

In essence, the EVF isn't all that different than the LCD screen "live view" feature that has become standard on digital cameras. But yes, amazing technology nonetheless.

The next time you are watching TV news or sports, play the "try to find the mirror less cameras that a pro is using" game. You may see civilians using a combination of camera phones or compacts but the pros are using either a Nikon or a Canon.

Most Photographers don't shoot sports and the ones that do will not likely use a mirrorless, at least not just yet.

Maybe not lot of Photographers shoot sports. But in the same vein not a lot of photographers are professionals. Also, Journalistic photographers are not shooting mirror less. I do not see nature photographers shooting mirror less. Possibly it's gaining traction with some fine art photographers.

Some may consider this an upgrade:

Or this:

However: A noted mag: compare the blad against the D800 when the D800 was released. The Blad won. but not by much.

Actually many are transitioning to the mirrorless format and more to come. This is from 2013..

I will consider mirrorless if my DSLRs die before I do.
