I like this subject. Laska always good to view the images from your home area.
My town is Washington Crossing...It is where Washington Crossed the Delaware River from PA to NJ to win the battle of Trenton during the revolutionary war.
This is the final resting place of some who fought and died and went unidentified...there is a lovely view of the river just beyond. Not a bad place to rest for eternity

Agree. Like your spot. Like this POV.

Hope I'm doing this right as I have not hosted before...I may need someone to step in on Saturday as my son is on a 600 mile bicycle trip and I think we may head out to find him. This subject is dear to my heart because i am so curious about where everyone else lives. Basically, introduce us to your town...if you live in a very rural area then show us your neighborhood, favorite hang-outs, whatever is unique, different...or what really identifies your home town. If someone wanted to move there ...what sites would you show them?? Even just street shots will work...just try to give us a feel of where you live. Add a description on your posting..maybe some facts ....in any case..Have fun!! And Welcome to Anchorage, Alaska!
Hope I'm doing this right as I have not hosted bef... (show quote)

Lass you did your town proud

Goodday RIVKA Thanks for this challenge should be fun.

In the early 1900’s the federal government with drew land from the Wind River Reservation, opened it to homesteading and Riverton was born, this year the EPA a federal bureaucracy (note non-elected officials) decided that never happened. Placing Riverton back on the reservation the lawsuits have just started, golly I love politics.

For those who are interested.

duckduckgo or google Wind River Reservation
duckduckgo or google Fremont County Wyoming

A few photos from the archives may get some new ones.

My daughter visiting last Thanksgiving this sign is located west of Riverton so if you are driving in from Yellowstone or Teton parks you pass it.

Why does it say Rendezvous City the site of the last fur trading Rendezvous in the Wind River Mountains is here

The Overview.

If you're in PEI and you say, "I'm going to town", you mean you're going to Charlottetown (Ch'town), the capital city, which really is 35,000 or so people.

In winter that means 145,800+ will shop or do business in Ch'town fairly often. In summer add 20,000*

I had managed to get some shots on May 15 and then again this morning. I left home @ 5:15 am and drove through fog until I reached Ch'town, when the sun came out. Overall, I got about 190 shots and didn't leave town until 11:00 a.m.

* I got that figure by going to a meeting of a PEI heritage foundation last night (tonight since I haven't managed to sleep). The person who concluded summer increase in population is at least 20,000 on any given day brought quite a few facts and figures one should consider into our talk. He certainly convinced me that he's quite the mathematician and led me to think his reasoning logical.

St-Romuald-des-Etchemins. My fave. Sad news though, the City of Lévis decided to take all the small villages under its wing around here however I still live in St-Jean-Chrysostome back up from St-Romuald and we are still small villages but only pay our taxes in Lévis

Jefferson City is the capital of the U.S. state of Missouri and the county seat of Cole County. A small portion of the city extends into Callaway County. It is the principal city of the Jefferson City metropolitan area, which encompasses the entirety of both counties. As of the 2010 census, the population was 43,079 making it the 15th largest city in Missouri. Jefferson City was named after Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States.

In 2013, Jefferson City was named America's "Most Beautiful" Small Town by Rand McNally.

Jefferson City is on the northern edge of the Ozark Plateau on the southern side of the Missouri River near the geographic center of the state, in a region known as Mid-Missouri. It is at the western edge of the Missouri Rhineland, one of the major wine-producing regions of the Midwest. The city is dominated by the domed Capitol that rises from a bluff overlooking the Missouri River to the north. Lewis and Clark passed beneath that bluff on their historic expedition upriver before Europeans established any settlement there

The second, third and fourth pictures are from the top of the Capital.

It would be nice to see older houses. I often find them very graceful.
