Nature Photos - Arnold (I Would Appreciate Comments and Critiques)

I have included nature photos from the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. To view more of these photos, click on this link http://bit.ly/xn7bF7. The first was taken with a Nikon D300 and a Nikon 500 mm f-4 Manual Focus lens. I used my Nikon D300S with a 70-200mm f-2.8 and 1.4 Teleconverter to capture the 2 last images. Below are the camera settings.
Camera setting;
#....ISO....Speed....f-stop
1....800....1/1000...f-6.3
2....400....1/500.....f-8
3....400....1/1600...f-11
I would really appreciate your comments and critiques on these photos. Thanks Arnold

Love two and three....one is good but I think the focus could be sharper. Love the color of the butterfly.

Arnold,
Beautiful reflection images. They are a little lighter than I would have processed them, but I'm thinking that any higher contrast would not have given you the seamless subject/reflection 'line'.
As to the butterlfy, its technically excellent. I'm just not a 'butterfly guy'
3 more of the high quality photos that we've come to expect from you.

I think they are very nice, but all three could be a little sharper, were you hand holding your camera? and did you use a manuel focus or auto? I find that my eyes are not as good as they use to be and I have to use Auto a lot to get a sharp focus.

#1 just for kicks you could flip the bird and make folks do a double take
but thats a goofy answer to your questions....i think bird is fine - it's a little washed out and flat but that is an issue with the time of day and the light - you did what you could.
#2 When i first saw it my thought was to frame the island tighter to eliminate the oh so similiar background - but this can't be done with this image without serious processing.

Photopolymer, Thank you for your comments about my photos. The lack of sharpness on the first photo was a result from handholding the 500mm lens and trying to focus it. Arnold

Rachel, Thank you for your feedback about my photos. I was handholding the camera for all these photos. The first photos was manualled focus and the last 2, I used autofocus. Arnold
