What makes America great.

Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult. Some people call a broken down rusted up heap of metal a "classic". Now I'm in trouble.
Since the OP's subject has been changed a few times, I don't feel badly about doing it again
Pounder, what breed is that gorgeous furball in your avatar?

That's way cool! LOL Just how "Big" a "Bear" are you? In my prime, serving in SEA in the USAF Air Commandos, I was a tad over 6' 4", 273 lbs, less than 5% body fat and, in the infamous words of a certain "Chicken Colonel" I was "too damn dumb to be afraid of anything..." So, they always put me on "point."
Also, "Red Bear" is my recognized name among three tribes (I think) of American Indians. :-D :-D :-D
All, please forgive me; I'm having a bad day and my fingers don't work, my keyboard can't spell, and, on top o' that, my "Trophy Wife" is home and distracting me.
I did have a special (for low vision) keyboard on order until the company called me yesterday and said that it was a discontinued item. Now, I found another one (cheaper, too!) and ordered it this morning.
Thanks are due to one of our fellow Hoggers that told me I was getting ripped off on the price anyway and made me try to study that cost factor more.

She's a Yorkie-poodle mix and the smartest damn dog that ever owned me. She taught me all kind of tricks. Like "fetch" a treat. "Walk" when she's ready. "Wake-up" I'm ready for breakfast. And others. She went to doggie heaven about 3 1/2 years ago and is going to be pissed when I show up so late. I stay in the doghouse so much that's probably where I'll end up.

Awww, she's a beauty, have you thought about getting another? I've never had a Yorkie but I have a Westie named Maggie. My niece always says, "Aunt Donna just doesn't know who the alpha female is yet." How funny, Maggie taught me the same tricks! :) She's going to have to wait, you have too many friends on the Hog...as for your being in the doghouse, can't help you out there!!! :D :D

I'm not as big as I used to be. I was 6' 2" 230# when I got out of USAF now down to 6' and 175#. I wasn't afraid either but apparently they were and kept me away from others until they needed me on the line. But the line kept moving and the commanders kept changing their minds as to what they wanted, so I never made it directly into combat.
I am Big Bear in my Iroquois tribe.

My friend, I am now distressed. I am NOT Indian - but I've been friends with members of various tribes since ...forever, I guess. I was first "recognized" by a tribe, one of the branches of the Lakota, when I was about 12 years old. I was already studying archaeology and wanted to study the peoples of the ancient southwest and had friends among the other kids at Taos Pueblo.
I served with several Mescalero and have made friends with a bunch of Navajos. I'm not a graverobber kinda archaeologist and the people of the southwest know this. Whn I was young, I was dumb enough to think that I could help people of several tribes - and found out that I stupid to think that.
I do have a little Indian blood - from a NM pueblo in the 1830's - but who cares? My family has been here since 1732, so there would, obviously, be some interconnection. We are typical European-based "mutts" - a little of everything.
BTW, I'm old - you knew that - and after a 100% disability from USAF, I've had several cancers, heart attacks, strokes, etc. I'm now at 6' 2" + and about 230 lbs. The VA wants me to lose weight because I'm old. I said, "It's too late, I'll still be old."

Love the last quote. Hang in there! Normally a sense of humor helps. We've got some members who won't make it long if that's true.

My life is too confused for another at the moment. My ex has a Beagle that was supposed to be my son's until after the first week of college. Then she came home and is still there 9 years later. I dog sit for friends a lot. Every type mutt you can imagine but I love all of them. I think I have 7 combined for three different families. I stay at their houses, drink their beer, use their pools and grills. It would be great if it paid something but I enjoy doing it when I can.

You're talking about the few, the uninformed, the insane. My apologies to our Marines for distorting the saying. Semper Fi!

They're all cuties! You get payment, the joy of having the dogs near, the beer, use of the pools and grills. :) I commented on the superior intellect of your ex-wife on another thread!
:-D :-D Thanks for posting the pics.
