Darkened the lower half outside the flower to give it that hanging look - sharpened and added some contrast to center of flower - added a slight amount of red to leaves and to whiteness of the flower - and a couple more minor adjustments - Slightly sharpened main flower only , to keep the more natural look . Thanks for letting us show different looks of your beautiful photo ....Tommy

Hi Bob...what program did you use for this work? By the way, it is done beautifully!

Added some luminosity to petals (they almost look translucent now), and a bit of structure.

Darkening the background around the lower and right is what I was thinking of. You did a nice job on that. I don't like the darkening in the center of the flower, though.

Kinda like...but selection needed smoothing

Object was to keep the colors close to the original and give it some pop, and increased detail, and add depth by darkening the background a tad.

Opened in Raw converted to smart object to enhance the detail in the flower. Used Topaz Adjust Recovery Highlights. Sharpened the image for additional detail.

Myrna has graciously granted permission for folks to work on her excellent photograph of a beautiful, colorful, and well textured cactus bloom. She has stated she doesn't care what kinds of edits may be offered, as long as they are tasteful, and she is curious to see what other people may come up with.

I like your silk petals version much better than this one.

I was so hoping you would say that, having a bit of fun. But I also have some very serious work using that odd technique that has sold well.

I took some of the pointers that were given on this forum and applied it to my version. I added some lunimosity and toned down the white just a little. I took it to Walmart today and had it printed on canvas in a 11X14 and I am so pleased with the way it came out. It is interesting to see all the variations that have been done with this flower...
