There are only two kinds of snakes.

The wrong kind will kill you.

KW... I also believe that, but ........

Riding a mountain bike over the most dangerous trail in the world is a bit Non Common sensical (not a word...haha)

I believe that fighting in the Anything goes fights where the loser may have lost because the winner choked him to near death is not showing common sense either.

And of course anybody on these posts trying to get their points across shows a bit of a lack of common sense also...

Must be a person of no faith!
Hahaha! I think it was just the opposite. This pastor Jamie Coots was such a good and holy person that god wanted him to be his companion in heaven to help him fight the devil. Heaven has an infinite amount of space, spirits don't take up much room. SteveR, Heart and venturer better watch out.

8-)

The proof that god didn't create anything is self evident. To try to prove that god did anything is foolish. To believe all that is written in the "book" is just ignorant.

To believe anything you post is ignorant. There goes another insult today. Sorry but I have to make my quota.

So I guess GOD CREATED GOD! HUH?
chienfou, you know darn well that god never had a beginning and will never have an end. God is eternal and everlasting, sort of like a loaf of Wonder Bread. It all makes good sense. After god chilled for an infinite amount of time (zillions of years+), he became very lonely (wouldn't you?) and decided he needed some company so he created the universe 6,000 years ago which included the planet Earth.

Upon that planet he created Adam in his own image and likeness. Why god needs arms, legs, an elimination system, etc. is still a mystery to me. God pulled out one of Adam's ribs and formed Eve so Adam wouldn't get lonely (why god needed Adam's rid to form Eve has always stumped me. If god created the vast universe out of nothing, why would he need Adam's rib to create Eve, oh well).

The devil then appeared (god created him, too, because god loves a good fight and he hadn't invented HD TV and the UFC yet) in the form of a serpent which tempted Adam and Eve to commit the Original Sin which immediately became a genetic trait and was passed along to future generations after decades of incestual behavior.

The rest is history and it is all true because it's in a book named The Holy Bible which is the true word of god although it was written by a few men and women that supposedly were under the influence of god or something.

At least one trait I love about god is his unique sense of humor. He could have just as easily created a perfect world but instead the universe is the equivalent of a morbid and violent video game. Hey! Maybe that's why this all came to pass, we are god's ultimate video game. Does the trade name 'Apple' have something to with the forbidden fruit. I'm on to something here and I better call Jesse Ventura asap.

Who in their right mind could not believe this?

You are so right! I guess he forgot what Jesus said to satan in the desert:5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”

Damn! Ol' Silver has an inside track to the Big Guy upstairs. Guess we'd better start listening to him, but wait-- he doesn't believe in the Big Guy upstairs. Won't he be surprised one day?

I must say that I'm sorry to hear that this believer has died. Although I do not believe in snake handling, he did use it as a means to spread the Gospel. I believe that he placed his faith in Jesus Christ, and we should all be sad at his passing, and not just use it as another time to discuss our differences.

Give it up folks... when I read the article on the Net, my first thought...

WOW, CAN"T WAIT to see how this plays out on UHH..... you have not disapointed me....

Even to the doubters here, and "Lo" there are many... it should be evident that the Scripture does not say nor mean that we should do as the followers of this small sect of believers do... TEMPT DEATH in the following of their creed.

and to silvers post "God won't protect you from anything" that is an opinion rather than a fact, as my Belief that he does is also an opinion, There is absolutely no way to prove it either direction.... To go back and forth over it is rather silly and non productive...

Steve, the problem is that he made Christians look like they are kooks. Non believers love to see things like that as it tends to bolster their argument. Please note that the snake handlers are mostly very simple uneducated people.

So anything good comes from god and anything bad comes from the devil. Thank you for your enlightenment. I was always confused about that, now I understand.

Noted, but lest one draw any conclusions prematurely, it might prove both interesting and enlightening (assuming one has not already done so) to read some of the many thousands of accounts of people who have died- to include some being pronounced clinically dead in the hospital operating room for several minutes or longer- who then return to life and share their experiences. Some try to rationalize this as an electro-chemical response of the brain as it shuts down, but the similarities of experiences shared certainly suggest strongly that there is more to life than just this existence at this time. Describing events in detail that took place both in and out of the operating room after their "demise" confuses those who try to rationalize the phenomenon as "normal." Encounters on the "other side" with loved ones, sometimes with people long since departed the subject hadn't even known in the subject's current life, still other beings, and indeed, other places/ destinations- not all of them particularly pleasant- would leave one to believe that there is a life beyond this plane, and that includes many experiences of people of Bro Silver's persuasion who were convinced that there is no such thing- until they experienced it for themselves. Suffice to say, you will never convince them of that following their experiences. Having said that, believe what you will-- time will soon tell.

That me be correct but how do we really know?
