There is nothing longer than the P600 on the market.

The Kodak AZ651 beats the P600 in both zoom and mp size.

BTW, Panasonic FZ70 has 60 zoom. It's been out for a few months.

For me, the question is which performs best under less than ideal conditions....the slr does. All depends on if you're willing to pay more for that edge and carry around a bit more stuff.

I am getting ready to buy a good camera, I am thinking of a DSLR, I want a great optimal zoom. I take semi professional photos . I want to expand and be a professional photographer, and do a lot more photos.
What camera would you suggest ? I am going to spend under $900.00.

we ALL take semi professional photo's.
It takes more than a dslr to be a professional photographer, which i definitely am not.

Well, as much as I would like to own lots of DSLR equipment, I can't afford it. Won't be able to afford it and can't justify the expense with the small amount of "picture taking" that I do. I loved my dad's old 1958 Pentax (which I still have) but I'll have to settle for a bridge camera and of course my trusty Lumix ZS30 which goes everywhere with me. (Until I buy a newer more improved model!)
