I constantly see the fright wingers complaining about Democrats. However, I haven't heard a word from them about Republican Trey Radel of Florida resigning because he was caught using cocaine. Or, how about the now former Republican Governor of Virginia, Bob McDonnell being indicted on corruption charges for receiving gifts for favors. And, we won't even get into the Christie Bridgegate scandal.
I'm not looking for any of the apologists to say how bad the Democrats are. I see that on here everyday, real or imagined. I want to know why none of you mention the Republican scandals.
Now, I'll sit back and watch the fun.

Hmmm…as I see it Trey Radel of Florida resigned. No problem there. Bob McDonnell is now a FORMER Governor. No problem there. And let's see, Chris Christie has apologized for the traffic jam and the people responsible for it have been held accountable. No problem there. Not defending their actions just saying it seems the problems have been resolved. Nothing more to say.

Trey Radel resigned .... after being caught...

McDonnell was accepting bribes .... while he WAS governor...

Chris Christie apologized ... after being caught... And you see no problem with a politician using the powers of his office purely for personal gain? The reason why Republican hate the idea of government so much is because they have no clue on how it's supposed to work.

As opposed to the Democrat tradition of corruption finely honed over the years? With no term limits and limited oversight, the temptation to become self-serving is too great for many of our politicians of both stripes.

Christie is far from resolved, far, far, far.

Republicans have always got away with having their pants unzipped--not even embarrassed by it.

And they are unique among our esteemed politicians in that regard? Bill Clinton is the leader of the pack in that department.

I'm really not that concerned about a traffic jam that is over and people have had consequences for. As far as I'm concerned it's a done deal. I believe that the office has turned over all documents and nothing points to his having any knowledge that it was going to occur and that he ordered it. I don't like the way Christie handles his office. From what I've seen he's an arrogant ass.

It bothers me when crap happens and no one is held accountable.

For varying definitions of "knowledge" and "ordering".

It's fairly unlikely Christie ever said, "cause a traffic jam".

It's very likely that he said "find a way to get that guy".

The "smoking gun" is an email which says "time for some traffic in Fort Lee," but that suggests that they are just implementing a plan which they had already worked out, but not in the email trail -- probably in person, which completely opens the question of who was involved.

Hal, you are making my point. Anything the GOP does is OK with you as long as they go after the president.
I also notice that the Republican apologists that usually frequent this board are strangely silent.

And this is evidence of what? That only Republican politicians resign or apologize after being caught?

Bob Filner

Anthony Weiner

Michael Brown

Jesse Jackson Jr.

Which continues the "false equivalency" of the way the right wing compares Republican Scandals to Democratic ones.

Weiner never did anything illegal (or for that matter, anything he has to apologize for, to anyone but his wife)

For that matter, the exact same thing goes for Bill Clinton.

Bob Filner committed real crimes, but none had to do with abuse of the power of his office.
