3Dean, those look like great places for photographing waterfowl and migratory birds...
Mostly ducks, coots and seagulls. Unfortunately, I think its proximity to residential areas keeps it from being very popular with the wildlife. Still, it's a very scenic and tranquil spot.

These were taken near Woodsfield, Ohio. There are so many ponds out in the country. You can't help but snap a couple of shots of them. :-D
This is my big pond called The Everglades
I almost missed the gator on the bottom. haha Brave shot!
My pond is little, and in the first photo is in the process of relining, but as summer progresses the lilies bloom, the dragonflies and birds visit, goldfish keep it clear of mosquitos It is a joy to look out from my french doors at my pond, built with my own hands. in the winter it is a weather indicator.if it is reflecting blue, it must be a nice day if it is rough rippled and grey cloudy and windy. if it is dimpled, it is raining, and it it is white or shiny it has frozen over and snowed on top.
When I had to reline it i wiped out a lot of the natural look but that will return. The dragonflies and birds light on the sticks i have here and there. This pond may be tiny but it is well worth all the work that went into it.
Old Picture, old Camera, cool waterways at night

i've been by that mill pond many times. i have a shot of it taken about 6 years ago that looks totally different from how it looks now. not sure i like the low angle with the grass in the foreground, though... i think i'd prefer a higher perspective and more reflection.
i like the one at the Arboretum... nice colors, and good exposure.
where were the two in the Cascades taken?

The first one is actually a pond in the bend of the river. It is near Easton on the south side of I90. The other pond is on the Cascade Loop Hwy east of Darrington. Here is another view of Mt Si. I have plenty as I shoot it each time i go to Snoqualmie Falls. If you have a secret place to get higher and shoot Mt Si and get a reflection, I would like to know the secret.
Mt Si and Reflection
Tranquil ponds are so relaxing... soothes the soul.

There are so many beautiful pics on this thread -
I wanted 2 participate, but I couldn't find a "pond" picture... hope I don't offend if mine is a "lake" picture. It's close but not the same to a similar pic I posted on sunsets....
Here is one of mine I took last summer. I have it hanging over my headboard. Would love a critique.
