Has anyone brought any camera and/or lens from Abes of Maine?

They were located in Edison,NJ and filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2012. They promise free delivery but try and talk you into getting "white glove" delivery at added cost.

Have bought two cameras and a couple lenses. Would recommend them as I have had no problems.

They have always been considered to be a reputable vendor, pretty much the same reputation as Adorama or B&H.

I have dealt with Abe's of Maine several times and never had a problem, was a matter of a convenient location, but since closed and am back to B&H

I bought a D80 from them several years ago. When looking at the photos they all had a spot on them. Checked the sensor and saw a speck on it. I tried to remove it with a blower but couldn't. I called them, explained the situation, and they shipped me a new camera in factory sealed packaging. I would not hesitate to make a purchase from them again.

Bought a $1000 lens from them a couple of years ago, flawless transaction. and no up-selling pressure.

No, never bought from Abes of Maine. - I get my mate to order my gear from either adorama or B&H Photo Video and have had what I ordered every time, on time & without hassle, - so I will always go back to either of the above.

Bought a fuzzbuster from them about 4-5 years ago. It came right in with factory plastic wrap, manual, case, box, as should be, no problems, best price, still works fine . My only purchase. Satisfied.

I bought several products from them with no problems. They are located in NY, but have stores in NJ, so now I have to pay tax. That would be my only complaint.
