Hi, has anyone brought any camera and or lens from Abes of Marine? Positive or negative? Their price appears to much lower than B&H. Are they authorize Cannon reseller ? Thanks.

Yes, I purchased from them once or maybe twice a few years ago. They did call me to ask if I wanted to purchase additional items. I said no and that was it. I received what I ordered in a timely manner.
But it has been at least 5-6 years ago I think.

Yes, I have and have had a fairly positive experience. They shipped very fast but do your research first. They are not the most knowledgeable.

Yes, I have purchased from Abe's of Maine. It has been six or seven years ago. They did call me to confirm my order and to try to sell me some additional stuff. I told them that I was a professional photographer and I already had what they were wanting me to purchase. They were not high pressure, said OK and promptly sent me what I ordered. The whole ordeal was very good. No problems. I think they are a reasonably reputable company.

I was getting ready to purchase from them, when I was in the market for a Canon 6D. Then I noticed that it was a different camera, made for Asia. It said No Wi-Fi and No GPS. So check with Amazon, as they are sometimes listed as one of their sellers

B&H are consistently very good with customer support, product information, shipping and price. Abe's is good with price, shipping and marketing. Don't have the same confidence with them. I had a problem with an item from B&H and the return was seamless. They shipped me a new item without any shipping or handling charge even before I they received the defective item. Most places I have dealt with like to get the defective item back prior to shipping you a new one.

I've have bought a camera body, several lenses and an external flash from them. Never a problem.

Abes also has a slightly different inventory than B&H (I say this having received one B&H order and waiting on a second B&H order while deciding on a third B&H order whilst on vacation) and so it can be a valuable addition to B&H which has about 30% of the U.S. market.

Lots of positives noted above, but mine was different. I once (years ago) ordered a camera from them. They called with a high pressure offer of a case that I didn't want. I refused the case, they SAID THEY WOULD SHIP THE CAMERA. It never came, nor was I billed for it.
