I received my camera on Monday. Delayed Xmas present.

I haven't put it down since then except to sleep.

I like live view for precise focusing and I like the ability to tweek the focus of the lenses. My Tokina 28-70mm focused short.

When the weather gets warmer I am going to shoot real shots

I don't know how you will be able to wait. The 5D MKIII is my favorite camera for the difficult shots. Try in-camera HDR and Multiple Exposures while you're at it.

Connie, what I want to know, is, why you are sleeping?
Tell you what, send me the camera, then you can sleep all day also!
Enjoy

You are going to LOVE this camera!! It's all I use now. The more I use it and discover the possibilities I am even more impressed! I really like the low light capabilities. Congratulations and enjoy!

I've had mine for 5 months and the honeymoon is not over. I've shot some great photos in the cold and snow. I swear the camera moves all by itself to get great composition. Have no fear, the camera has a built in Parka for cold and thong for warm. ;)

Congratulations! I love mine. I have found so many things around the house to play with. This camera will give you the ability to turn almost anything into something pretty cool. And the grand kids run and hide when they see me grab my camera!

Hi All,

Thanks for all of the nice comments.

As has been noted already there are so many possibilities with this camera.

The only thing I did not like at first was the lock on the mode dial, but I got past that real quick

Agreed! That is a great feature of many cameras.

It was a change but I really do like it. You have to make a conscious decision to change it. No accidents. ;)

I have used the 5D III since it was first available. It has been nothing short of pure joy whether in photo or video mode. I bought the Canon EOS 5D III Digital Field Guide by Charlotte K. Lowrie and continue to refer to it to keep myself moving along with its features. If reading is one of your vices, combine these two... the next accomplishment is just around the corner.

You also mention tweaking the focus of certain lenses. Front and back focus issues can affect the digitial outcome as you surely know. Keep in mind that if you add a 1.4x extender to a certain lens capable of using a extender, you need to tweek that extender/lens combination too. From that point on, the 5DIII will recognize that tweek as well. Most of all, the 5D3 will keep you smiling.

Congratulations! Like others, I use mine constantly. I've had the greatest enjoyment from the Autofocus system. It has really opened up the world of sports and action photography for me. Also, the video system is fabulous. Again, congratulations nd many happy "clicks."
