That is truly amazing! I love how you weaved the narration to point out the features. It must have cost you a bomb to collect all those pieces. Thank you.

That is great!!! Before retiring, we used to set up both the Dickens and the North Pole Villages. We would snacks and drinks, and invite all the neighborhood children over for a viewing. Adults were allowed ONLY if accompanied by a child. We tried one year here and the only ones to attend were our own grandchildren. As a result, we have about 200 pieces just sitting in storage. Tis a shame. Really like your setup, makes we wish for the "good old" days.

I hear your pain. Personally, I'd build the village even if no one saw it. It is a bit of year end therapy for me and I just enjoy doing it. I spend a lot of time over the holidays just standing and looking over the display. It is lit every night and I sometimes just sit or stand and admire. I also start thinking how I would do it better next time.

Thanks for looking.

Wonderful display. Thanks.

Maybe it does not look like the really think--like you have on the old country, but it suits my vision. Thanks for looking.

Do you think it needs something in particular??

Simply can't imagine the work you have placed in this. A whole new meaning for the word "patience". Kudos to you sir.

Thanks for your compliment. However, this is really a labor of love. I really enjoy doing it. Sometimes I work into the wee hours of the a.m. just because i want to see how some feature comes out. It is the joy of creating. I've got a very ambitious idea for Halloween next fall---hope it works...

Glad you liked the story. The story developed when I started having openhouses for visitors to come see. Without the story they looked for a few moment then left. With the story they lingered and began to really look at this things I had built into the display. I think the same gors for when the village is online. The photos are small and it is hard to see the detail unless it is pointed out. To me this seems like a friendly way of doing it.

Besides, I'm really getting to know the resident safter all these years.... :) :) :)

As amazing as this is going to seem, I paid full price for very few of these pieces. some I got as pay for building store displays, some when places closed. Some from garage and yard sales.

For the record, all my pieces are not inthis pisply. If some do not fit into a particular scheme or play, they go back in their boxes until year year. Some of my favorites did not make the cut this year---but they will be in next year's display.

Thanks for looking. This year's set up took 4 days and serious cutting, painting and shaping. Then about 2 days to place and wire the buildings and another day to figure out to to wire all the accessories and streetlights. Then another day to do the detail work. So about a week and a half of real labor time. It generally comes down in about 2 days.

My hats off to your talent!
