Each year I build a Department 56 Christmas Village for family, friends and others to visit. I finally finished the photographs and built the web page to display it for those who cannot visit it live.

You are invited to drop in and visit my little Christmas village. The display is 4x8 feet, and contains approximately 40 lighted houses.

I also have about 25 Department 56 Village pieces but did not set them up this year. You have quite a collection and I can imagine the "weeks" it must have taken to get everything set up with the details. Additionally, your close up photos are excellent depicting the quality of each village piece. Great job!
Now that it's January 1st...when do you start dismantling? :D

Thanks for looking. It always stays up until my birthday at the end of the month. We have an open house for members of my local department 56 club next week when the holiday rush is all over and folks can relax a bit.

Thanks for looking. This year's set up took 4 days and serious cutting, painting and shaping. Then about 2 days to place and wire the buildings and another day to figure out to to wire all the accessories and streetlights. Then another day to do the detail work. So about a week and a half of real labor time. It generally comes down in about 2 days.

That is great!!! Before retiring, we used to set up both the Dickens and the North Pole Villages. We would snacks and drinks, and invite all the neighborhood children over for a viewing. Adults were allowed ONLY if accompanied by a child. We tried one year here and the only ones to attend were our own grandchildren. As a result, we have about 200 pieces just sitting in storage. Tis a shame. Really like your setup, makes we wish for the "good old" days.

Simply can't imagine the work you have placed in this. A whole new meaning for the word "patience". Kudos to you sir.
