When this lie is repeated either explicitly or inferred...point it out and challenge it.

The above statement is borne out every day in our media. It's become a useful ploy for the Politically Correct' to attach the suffix 'phobe' when pointing to someone with whom they disagree. As this quote makes very clear, one does not have to fear something in order to disagree with it.

I don't hate niggers. I just think they should stop acting so black.

It's funny, replace the n-word with "homosexuals" and you have modern bigotry. Funny how people stand behind hatred and think that "tolerance" means allowing hatred to thrive and exist.

Love everyone around you.

Clearly a troll has hijacked rhitmrb's account. Surely he would never make such a crass and bigoted statement. I'm sure ADMIN is looking into the matter.

We look forward to rhitmrb getting his account back asap.

I look forward to your being able to detect reductio ad absurdum. Thanks for making my point: what Phil Robertson originally said is exactly the same thing, except with gays instead of blacks. Now do you see why it's offensive? It has nothing to do with "agreeing with" gays.

I hope that we can agree to disagree. In my opinion that is not what he said at all. Your view is one often advocated by the left where virtually anything that is not a part of their credo can be interpreted as some kind of racist remark or derogatory commentary.

Examples: Chris Matthews has said that if you vote for Romney you're a racist, and to take it to an even higher extreme, the Portland School District has said that eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a racist act. There are countless examples of other ridiculous accusations that have no basis in fact but will be accepted as gospel by those who place their faith in sermons professing a Socialist Salvation.

With that as a backdrop, it's easy to understand why they might find racist a statement by a man who says he can disagree with your lifestyle without hating you.

Equating homosexuality with bestiality isn't racist, it's homophobic. The racist thing he said was claiming blacks were happier in the South under Jim Crow laws.

Clearly we interpret his statements very differently but I respect your right to interpret them as you see fit. I stand behind my previous posts and will now bow out of this exchange. I'm not one to beat a dead horse. You may have the last word.

From the horse's mouth: "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there, bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."

If that somehow wasn't meant to equate the two, it doesn't really matter, because that's certainly how plenty of people are taking it.

No, only the heterophobes are taking it that way.

Is "heterophobe" some down south term for "not bigoted person"?

No, it is a polite way of saying pro-homosexual. No more on this.

So what's wrong with letting people live their own lives, exactly? What's wrong with criticizing bigoted public statements in public for what they are? Would you think it was acceptable to call black people animals? If not, why gay people?

I'm not sure which is worse; someone honestly expressing their bigotry or someone that hides behind "Political Correctness."
