dNikon's sharpest TC is the 2.0 E III (not the E II). Here is an example of an image using only 4% of image and shot with a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 and a 2.0 E III TC. Car is doing about 130mph and this was shot from the stands some 30 rows up handheld. It is also dumbed down to 95 ppi for web.

Using a Lumix GF6 camera, Lumix 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Mega O.I.S lens, and a Lumix 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Mega O.I.S. lens.

I want to purchase a extender/teleconverter just for occasional use on the 200mm lens, which converts to 400mm.

Any advice and/or recommendations from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

I am having a hard time justifying the cost of a 300mm lens for use only a couple of times per year.

An important consideration when using teleconverters: you lose 1 stop of light for a 1.4x TC, and 2 stops of light for a 2.0x. So if I put a 2.0x TC on a 300mm f/2.8 lens, it becomes a 600mm f/5.6. That affects my shutter speed/ISO options, and it also affects the AF system, which works better with more light, and an f/2.8 lens brings in more light than a f/5.6 lens.

This is what I did not undertand!

It is the other way around - with an adaptor you van mount a 4/3 lens on a M4/3 body NOT a M4/3 lens on a 4/3 body.

Olympus made the EC-20 2X TC for the four-thirds mount, but not the Micro 4/3. They do have a patent for a 1.4X TC in the Micro 4/3 mount, but its not on the market yet.

MT, it' s the other way around:4/3 lens can be mounted on Micro 4/3 body with adapter.

But: Can you mount a 4/3 lens with teleconverter on adapter on Micro 4/3 body and still get decent photos?
