Using a Lumix GF6 camera, Lumix 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Mega O.I.S lens, and a Lumix 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Mega O.I.S. lens.

I want to purchase a extender/teleconverter just for occasional use on the 200mm lens, which converts to 400mm.

Any advice and/or recommendations from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

I am having a hard time justifying the cost of a 300mm lens for use only a couple of times per year.

I was not aware they made TC's in micro 4/3 mount ?? Lately, I have been playing with the Pentax M 300mm F4 Green Star lens in pentax PK mount. This of course is a manual focus lens - but is extremely compact ( 850 grams), SHARP, and very manual focus friendly. Cost? about $400 on ebay.

Panasonic and Olympus have converters specifically made for 4/3's cameras. I am sure there are others as well.

Olympus made the EC-20 2X TC for the four-thirds mount, but not the Micro 4/3. They do have a patent for a 1.4X TC in the Micro 4/3 mount, but its not on the market yet.
Keep in mind that 4/3 accessories nor lenses will not mount on Micro 4/3 bodies. You can get adapters to mount Micro 4/3 on standard 4/3's though.

I am pretty sure that if I buy a Tele-converter lens...it will be the Panasonic DMW-GTC1, built specifically for all Lumix G cameras.

I have read some of the pros and cons-just wondering what others have to say, Pro and/or Con, concerning tele-converters

Just be aware of what you are buying. That is NOT a teleconverter. It is a telephoto-conversion attachment. In attaches to the end of the 14-42mm lens to artificially make it appear to be a longer telephoto lens. A teleconverter is an optical element that attaches between the camera body and the lens itself to optically increase the focal length of that lens, with a corresponding loss of light gathering ability. Conversion lenses like what you are looking at are nothing more than a magnifying filter that adds onto your existing lens. You lose light gathering ability as well as visual acuity and sharpness by adding these extra elements.
PLUS, you will get nowhere near the zoom that you already have with your 45-200mm second lens.
Look at the Lumix 100-300mm model, its vastly superior to what you are proposing as well as what you have now in every manner, and pretty reasonable priced as well.

I use the Nikon 1.4x TC with the Nikon 300mm f/2.8. I can see some image quality degradation, so I use it sparingly. I'm concerned about the IQ with the 2.0x TC, so I'll stick with the 1.4x. I may be more picky than most, though.

After reading what you stated, I did a little more research. Seems the teleconverter will not work on the 200mm lens. It only works with the 42mm lens!!!!!
But, as you said, it will double the 42mm zoom.

Is there anything available that will increase the zoom of the 200mm lens......short of mortgaging my home in order to pay for it?

Micro 4/3s is the lens mount of your camera. It is smaller than the standard 4/3s mount and not interchangable.

Nikon's sharpest TC is the 2.0 E III (not the E II). Here is an example of an image using only 4% of image and shot with a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 and a 2.0 E III TC. Car is doing about 130mph and this was shot from the stands some 30 rows up handheld. It is also dumbed sown to 95 ppi for web.
