That's right and it is still out of control!

I think i will get my photos deleted. I am not for easy access of guns, on the contrary.I would like more control for acquisition and use. I think we have gone past the " law of the revolver" era that was so glamorized by the westerns. It is a past long gone, although people still want to hold into that frame of mind...

I just posted a favorite gun that I don't even own. I just find it a masterful piece of art, that's all. So that everyone knows, I think "Mr Z" murdered a young boy without justification. Those who say that Trayvon Martin was a criminal have no basis for this statement, other than Mr. Z's assessment that he " was up to no good" Who would consider Mr Z. a good judge of character, not to say, where are the facts for that assumption?

So, people, let's not not read too much on posting a gun. It is just a tool. People kill people and people need controls, without police on the streets everyone would be killing and robbing each other. They do with police , imagine no police. So, unless we become saints we need controls.

Amen

It never ceases to amaze me about people ,here everyone seems to have their panties in a wad over a photo of a gun, yet there is a post showing a very obvious under age child posted ( no mention of my daughter , niece , etc nor mention of parents consent to use this photo)
I would rather see 100 photo's of guns compared to 1 unauthroized photo of a under age child, the only good point to this photo was there was no location given as to where the child resides.

You need to find out the real Trayvon...innocent not so much. That's another thing about our country. Even low-life's are entitled to an attorney. Think he paid for his? Think again! Pro-bono for the publicity.

Agree we need controls...but then when do we ban cars or knives..cigarettes and alcohol?

I wouldn't prosecute/kill a young Mr. Trayvon for what he did a long time ago if he did. Nor I would go out on a witch hunt trying to dig something out of his past What mattered was that moment. When he was killed, his hands were empty, he was not caught on any felony or crime. Mr Z? He has been battering women ever since. But maybe for some here that is just business as usual between men and women. My God, more politicians are worst than this young man and they get... what? Re-elected! He had not done anything (in the past, probably) a white young of that age does, like smoke MJ and do some drinking and other stuff. If they get caught, yes, prosecute them. If not, do not persecute them forever.

In this country in more than 25 states a criminal can get out of prison on a Friday and buy an assault rifle, ammo, and clips without a background check. I do not think it is unreasonable for society to say that is unreasonable. I own hunting rifles, and used to belong to the NRA before they became complete whack jobs. I also own a fine shotgun, and a pistol I keep in the car while traveling, yet, like most gun owners I am in favor of more gun control. I also acknowledge it may not be possible with 300,000,000 guns in this country. Pistols really have one purpose: shooting people. Oh, I know there are specialized pistols used for hunting, but pistols are generally used for shooting people. Firearms are a public health issue, but Congressional Republicans, lapdogs for the NRA, have managed to prohibit both the CDC and the NIH from conducting ANY research on gun violence. Forever. Is that a reasonable way to have an intelligent discussion about gun violence in this country? And if those other objects, baseball bats, knives, etc. are such an effective way of deterring or perpetuating violence, why don't people use them instead of guns (to the tune of 20,000 gun deaths per year)? Before Congress banned research by the CDC and NIH on gun violence, it was determined that you were FOUR times more likely to be killed by your own gun in YOUR home than you were to repel an invader. Or, how about the guy who published all the research in the 90s that said people PREVENTED violence just by introducing a gun into a volatile situation? The famous sociologist, Otis Dudley Duncan, asked him for his research statistics. He said his grad student had the data. Then he said his hard drive crashed. Then it was revealed he COOKED up the whole thing. The research was all FRADULENT. He was the darling of the NRA before that!
In this country in more than 25 states a criminal ... (show quote)

Who's talking a "long time ago"?? How 'bout just days before the incident? Sure...I thought he was just the innocent kid portrayed at first in the media(keen defense move), but then I watched more and learnt more.

Just a wee tad one-sided belief. Now wake up and get the whole story!y

He was not doing anything when he was killed, which is my point. Obviously you are selectively blind or selectively NOT blind(in reference. to Mr. Z), however you decide to look at yourself. Even if Mr. Z on his color biased justice thought Mr. T was "doing something" he was no judge, no jury, had no authority other than to call the police if he saw something. Having a gun does not give you a permit to pursue people "you think are doing something wrong" . Why do we have a justice SYSTEM? Just because of men like him, I could say. One person alone cannot decide and there are parameters to define offenses, to commit people to jail and judge them. Seldom to kill them.

But this post has turn a wrong turn. We should not be discussing a case or the lives of these two people because of a post of a gun. I just asked my photo to be put down and hasn't. If it is going to provoke a discussion of the gun laws and cases, I don't think that was the intent. At least not mine, but I had to respond to some of the outrageous comments. You will not here from me on this subject. Enough said.

You really are a D.A. While Mr Z was being attacted by a younger, stronger, bigger, wan-a-be gangster, he was supposed to call a time out so he could call the cops? Then wait 20 minutes.

Besides...this has already been decided by our criminal justice system.

I see that Mr. Zimmerman, poster boy for gun ownership and murdering innocent black teenagers, is in trouble AGAIN. Maybe like OJ Simpson, he'll get his just desserts, if not here, in some afterlife accounting.

The "innocent black teen " that was trying to kill Zimmerman?
Can you say AQUITTED? it was in the paper, read the facts.

Gee Wizz, Let's get back to photography. If you don't like fire arms don't get one. You can always call 911 and wait! Cars kill people, Knives kill people, clubs kill people. matches burn down forests, Cell phones make I.E.D.'s, gasoline( petrol over there). burns down houses with people in them. Like they sat: 'You can't fix Stupid'
P.S. Retired U.S. Army. Vietnam( my 1911A1 was used only cause I HAD to)
Again lets get back to Photography!

I don't know why so many people that obviously know very little about weapons have such a strong opinion about them. They spout off about things that really don't make a lot of sense. To say that guns are only made to kill people. That is like saying that the only reason a person buys a gun is to kill someone. Next they will be calling cars "assault cars" because they kill many more people than guns, knives, baseball bats, bombs, and etc.
