They are such beautiful birds you almost think they're someone's invention. I would love to see some in the wild.

Many birds a very regional. Your common Black-Necked Stilt caused quite a bit of interest here in southern Wisconsin last August when it made a rare appearance to feed in the drawn down marsh areas.

You and I both wish to see so many species of birds, thank goodness for this forum, we can see many of them and get help photographing "our birds" from our friends.

Thanks for this information. The map (link) shows Idaho should have them here. I just haven't been lucky enough to see one yet. This has to be the prettiest duck I have ever seen.
