I just posted this picture to another thread just to share--was asked to do so!--but while in the process I noticed how green the side of his face is. Could that be from the reflection of the high green plant that was nearby?

If you would like to take a stab at turning my Max into dog color, please do. Please, tell me what you did to achieve your look in edit. I tried a couple of things but nothing looked right. I'd like to learn from your efforts.

Almost forgot to mention camera info--ISO 800, f/5.6, 1/100
at 73 mm.

Will do--he is such a lovable boy and a pretty hefty lapdog too!

Here is my effort. If you overlay this one with your original one that was posted, and then toggle back and forth between the two, you can see where I did a little localized burning/dodging in the individual RGB channels. Hope this is what you were looking for.

Thank you so much. I could see the difference immediately. I did not know about dodging/burning in the RGB channels. I've learned something new today, thanks to you! I'm going to give it a go to see if I can come close to reproducing what you have done.

I don't know if you will like this, I just messed with the saturation and hue levels in Lightroom 3 and did some minor tweaking to the exposure, white balance, and sharpness on it. Then I added a light vignette.

Hope you like, its a sweet photo.

We'd love to see the new results. I really like learning new things whether it's with camera or in Photoshop.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make adjustments to Max's photo. It is interesting to see the different methods used to improve the picture. He is the sunshine in my days so appreciate the work done to give me a good photo.

Thank you for taking the time to make my Max less green. Could you tell me what you did and what program you used? There seems to be more than one way to do this.

I use Photoshop CS5 and just added adjustment layers hue and saturation and selected certain parts and worked with it..I also used the eyedropper to sample a couple of places and painted over parts then changed the blend mode to color..took a bit of doin' though

Thank you again. I still have problems working with layers so I appreciate you telling me how you did it. I am going to practice all the methods described because, at the very least, I will learn more about the tools and what they do.

I just posted this picture to another thread just ... (show quote)

I captured the offensive green area with a lasso tool (feathered about 50%), enhance, adjusted hugh & saturation until it looked right, and sharpened the eye area. Took about two minutes...and Max was such a good dog while I did it. There...now he is 'human' again and not an 'alien.' <chuckle>

Thank you--I'm working with a couple layers now. Thanks for the kind words about Max's picture. He is a keeper!
