Thought I would throw one out for discussion. This was taken on a foggy day with the sun just getting in the sky behind me.

Hello Bushido, this is a very pleasing and tranquil image. I'll offer a couple of my thoughts, not so much a criticism, more a different view. I think a little cropped from the top to raise the horizon from the centre line and, this applies to the taking of the picture rather that any PP, to lower your viewpoint to make the posts break the line of the horizon. Breaking the horizon, I feel would link the two areas, the sea and the sky, together. Of course the different viewpoint might not be at all possible without getting into the water :-)

Thank you for your thoughts Graham. Your thoughts are well taken and I had not considered breaking up the horizon. As for getting wet, it would not have been the first time and in fact many a person has told me I was all wet. I don't think that was a complement do you?

When I saw this during shooting and started working the final piece, the intent was to make the objects look isolated yet beautiful with the reflections. Even though Graham's concept has merit and could possibly make a wonderful image, breaking the horizon line would also detract from the feeling of isolation that I want to project with this piece. I for one love honesty and would rather have someone be honest than lie to me, however there are ways of doing it that does not create animosity among all of us. As President Woodrow Wilson said " Tact, The art of telling someone to go to hell in such a manner that he anticipates the trip." Happy Shooting JR1 and thanks again for your comments.

You said it was a foggy day. I was expecting more fog.. I'm thinking there's just a tad too much blue.

The horizon is good with me.. It's a little above center, which is fine.

Good eye. I like your photo too.

Thank you for your comments RedIris. Through manipulation the fog in the foreground was eliminated. However the reason for stating it was a foggy day was to explain the softness of the back ground. The thin dark strip just above the darker water and the lighter sky is the shore line which was in heavy fog and could hardly be seen as depicted in the image. Again thanks for the comments. Happy Shooting.

We both want to help the image submitter, by giving a honest and polite critique, we achieve a three fold accomplishment - The photographer, the reader and ourselves.
Thank you.

This is such a serene, gorgeous shot. I'd like to see it in monochrome and see what it looks like and the feelings it causes.
