If you have to use them, what other options do you have besides paying for it yourself. I'd give them a try. And, no, I don't know anything about them.

O, See if you can find them on Yelp.
That will give at least some idea.
Good luck

For what it's worth, this company is also a Nikon authorized repair center.

They did a good job on my Polaroid 180- about 15 years ago. New bellows, rebuilt the shutter.

They have been around for a long time.

They are an Olympus repair center. they were sent my OM D EM-5 to fix with the grip. They damaged my grip so it was unusable. However when I called them about it, they reimbursed me for a new grip.

I've purchased from New Egg several times over the years. No problems whatsoever. If you have questions they are very knowledgeable and helpful. I found their prices very competitive.

Sounds like if you value your camera you would send it to Canon, even if you have to pay for the repair yourself. With all the bad reports why New Egg would continue to use Precision Camera is beyond me. Most likely explanation is $$$. Canon is going to know how to repair your camera and will most likely have the parts. Ask your self this question .... is getting warranty repair worth possibly having your beloved Canon camera FUBAR'D buy a company who already has a bad rap for doing so? Do yourself a favor and stick with Canon Repair or you may really regret not doing so. NOT WORTH THE RISK, IMHO!

Just sent my 5D2 to Canon for a repair. They have a flat fee of about $250. Also shipping cost me $25 - $7 for USPS Priority and $18 for $1500 insurance. They were very fast with repair and they paid return shipping FedEx (had to be home to sign for it)

If this Precision Camera is associated with the store in Austin,TX, then you have nothing to worry about. I have purchased equipment and had great advice from them. They have been in business for a long time and don't make you feel unimportant if all you need is some filters and or buying a camera. They have a great reputation. Hope this helps.
