What is the "My Pages" feature?

At the top of each page there is a header with a lot of topic links. One of these is "My Pages." Does anyone know what that section is for? How do different people use it?
To me is just seems like a place to type whatever you want; but I'd like a good idea of how to utilize it.

I've experimented. You can create a lot of different subjects on one page, or create different pages for different subjects. You can use the url at the top of the page to direct people to your blog.
