I was so impressed with what rlaugh had done with his pictures to age them so I tried it out on a picture that is from a field trip with my camera club. I am waiting to see what comment I get on Wed evening. I think it is great to see what folk come up with and to try it yourself.

Thanks Bob, not as complicated as the way you do it I think. I made the picture into the color I wanted with a filter and then put an old picture of my Granddad on top which gave me the old frame and worn picture, I added a layer mask and erased what I did not want and added a couple of lines. They say its a compliment to dress like someone so lets hope its a compliment to try someones photo idea. :D :D

I think it is very interesting. What comes to mind is a discussion about digital manipulation. What is enough and what is too much? I think your "aged" shot looks great in download. The larger perspective made the details come alive. I like the image; but if I had done it, I would be wondering if I had "overdone" it. Just my two cents. What you think about your art is, of course, much more valid than what anyone else thinks about it.

Thanks for your comment and glad you like it in download, This was just a try out and when I looked at the picture that I put on top to give the aged (not as technical as rlaugh) it looked to come from the same era. I am pleased with it.

Thanks angler for looking and comment. Makes the brain work a bit harder trying to figure out how things are done. :D

I was thinking similar to ebrunner that it might be just a tad too much as it's kind of hard to appreciate the subject as is. But still a success - and I love the creativity!

I also like the shot. But is there away to make the lines of aging angled some? What you have looks like it is painted on. But a nice first try!!!! I might have to try this.:)

Thanks Linda I think that I maybe should have erased a bit more of the top picture out. I had put a picture that was old of my Granddad and had been broken and held together with sellotape so I put a mask on it and went from there. I had changed the mine picture with filters from nik software to make it look old in color. I have added the picture of my Granddad so you can see what I have used. Glad you like it though as it is a first attempt and I will try again to improve it.

I really like it; looks like something out of a history book and you've picked the perfect subject. Is it a tin mine?
