Thanks. That's an interesting design. I added it to my Amazon Wish List (98 items now).
What diameter & focal length lens do you use it on? The Raynox must be about 67mm in diameter, since that's the upper lens size it will fit.

I just got a big surprise. I got an email from Amazon telling me that my Raynox lens will be delivered tomorrow! I must have clicked on "Buy with One-Click" instead of Wish List. I caught it in time to cancel. It's good that wasn't a D4.
Canon makes close up lenses . I think it's 500D which are good around $150 (for 77mm)more or less that you screw on you''re lens. I like it Bryan Peterson recommended it in his book.

I have a 18-55mm vr II, a nikon 35mm f2.4?, and a Nikon 70-300mm ed vr f4.5. I like to take photos of wild life and do macro shots of almost anything.
But I can't afford the expensive lenses. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hmm. When I looked at it a while back it was much more than that.

Just My Opinion, your Nikon 70-300mm VR works just fine for wildlife. The trick is to learn your subject and get close.
Not only yours.

Unfortunately, teleconverters don't work well with zooms. However, a 400mm with a 2x should be prime!! Actually, a cheaper version would be a 300mm f4 with a teleconverter, which is very similar to the way SwampGator shoots, except he shoots Canon.
I don't know why not, I use mine on a zoom quite a lot and it really works well. Good IQ, fast AF, I can not complain.

You should be able to do very well with your 70-300. With your crop sensor your getting 450mm. Used with a tripod it may well well be all you'll need. I do a lot of wildlife and use a 70-300mm Sigma. I do have a 1.4 Sigma converter but rarely use it. Of course you can crop further when editing.
I've been using a Canon 500D for years. Extension tubes work funky on a zoom lens.
Maybe you could be more specific about your budget.
Have you considered used lenses?
Since Nikon's new 80-400 came out, you can find good used samples of the older version for under $1000. Does that work for you?
Another possibility is a used 80-200 f/2.8 with a 2x converter. Autofocus will work just fine at f/5.6, You could also sell the 70-300 to help pay for it and have a really excellent tele-zoom as well.
I did a tour of Costa Rica this past winter with a D300, a 70-200/2.8 VR (the original, not the updated one, purchased used) with a 2x converter. I got sharp 13x19" prints
If you do go used, just go with a reputable seller like B&H or KEH..
