Whew! luvmypets was correct ..... I hadn't really noticed the green cast in the hair until she mentioned it. In for a little, in for a lot. Ergo, I used Hue/Saturation to desaturate only the green channel, then used NIKSoftware's Color Efex Pro 4's White Neutralizer filter to ameliorate some of the effect. While I didn't get it all, it's not quite as noticeable as before.

Bob, you are so far ahead of me, I have not even looked for color channels never mind played with them! ;) But I am excited about starting over with this picture and following your step by step instructions for editing. I don't have CS6, but I think the tools you used are also in my Elements 11 - just need to start playing with them! Thank you so much for your very kind guidance!

Thank you for looking at my posts! I haven't mastered photoshop either so believe it or not I use Windows Live Gallery. I have downloaded Picasa and it seems close to Live Gallery. I've just gotten Scott Kelby's book on Elements 10. Now if I can just find the time to sit down and start working with it.

I guess you and I have some work ahead of us to learn photoshop. :)

Luvmypets, I'm finding Elements 11 daunting so far - maybe we need to start a Wannabe-Photoshoppers support group ;)

Nice shot Kerfree.

Thank you Jim! I appreciate you saying so! The quality is not the best, but hopefully a little proper editing will improve it!

Love the shot, Kerry! Bob gave you a good workflow, so I won't dabble any further, but there are other things you can do here as well, if you want. But regardless, a terrific shot!

Thank you, Randy! I love the shot, because I love the subjects, even though the quality suffers. Now though with your Photoshop coaching and Bob's workflow guidance I can do do it justice - eventually!

Hope you are having a grand Maine weekend and are out there with your camera today! :) Looking forward to amazing results :D

I've used every version of Photoshop Elements since version 6 (PSE 10 is still my favorite), so if you need any help, I'm willing to teach you what I know so far. PSE versions always have some neat features that CS6 didn't include, so I've been known to edit the same photo in two different programs to get what I'm looking for.

Bob, I'm making real progress, thanks to you (and Treepusher :)) But not enough progress to post results yet! I wrote down your workflow steps and have been working on the picture for about an hour. I was doing great finding the tools, playing with the sliders and making improvements, until I tried to get fancy and add a little Gaussian blur layer. The concept of layers is starting to sink in, but I should have stopped while I was ahead ;) Next lesson - using the selection tool  Many thanks, Bob, for showing me and telling me!

Seriously! Let's hold each other accountable! But Treepusher, Bob Yankle and few others here are the ones to listen to on the topic of Photoshop, not me :)!

I'll agree to that!!!

Alright guys, give me a little time to study my new book and try a few things and I'll be asking questions.
