[quote=BillHill]The planet began warming 22000 years ago and will continue until the end of the current ice age. There has been a pause in the warming for the past 15 years even though the carbon dioxide level continues to increase.

Do the research- these are well known, proven facts. Hope they do not get in your way![quote=bgl]

Dear Bill. If you truly believe you are citing objective, scientific facts from credible sources than all I can say is God Bless.

Ignorance can be cured. How about starting with the upcoming IPCC report. Pre releases are available now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age

The current "ice age" will not end until all glaciers have melted for whatever reason. At that time we will enjoy the climate the earth has experienced for 85% of its existence.

Oh, I thought this was some startling revelation. But, what the article says is that they are refining their simulation and modeling.

That is what science does. Science constantly tests hypothesis and adjusts for new findings.

Idiots think that something that is said is cast in stone!

They LIED for years, in the 70's the same morons were crying about global cooling, then warming, now they admit they COOKED THE BOOKS to make their "data" fit their agenda. they LIED.

Do you not ever get tired for apologizing for these liars?

My take on all the back and forth is that there are a lot of folks in this forum who don't seem to think that there is any reason to be concerned about our environment or our climate. Even when they try to support their positions with "facts", they take things out of context and omit other things. I went to the IPCC links online to see what was being quoted here and found exactly what I contend. I hope they don't come to regret their stance. I would love to be wrong about my own views about this subject. So I recognize that it is pointless to continue my participation in this particular segment.

Nobody is saying that there is no need to be concerned, of course we all want a cleaner environment, we should all take care to manage our foot print, but we should not upend our economy based on exaggerated models and an extreme progressive movement. For progressives to deny that the environmental moment has not been for years at the fringe of your political structure would be a kin to calling the Tea Party movement politically moderate.

You guys just don't seem to get that people like Al Gore are not so concerned about the environment but rather the political and financial power that it provides him. If he were truly as concerned as he speaks he would do as I have done and work to minimize his environmental foot print, but he does not, in fact the elitist bastard seems to think that because he is uber wealthy and can afford to buy carbon credits as easily as the rest of us would purchase a pack of chewing gum that it is ok for him to leave a carbon footprint about 500x larger than the average American.

Liberals worship the wrong gods, Obama and Gore are flawed men and AWG is a flawed science.

You should pack up and move to Oregon, they would appreciate you there. You could all sit around a simulated camp fire and exchange granola recipes.

There is a disconnect between what your perception of a "liberal" or "progressive" is and reality. Is it simply wrong to associate those labels with far left views as it is wrong to associate all Republicans with the Tea Party. Most people on the right or on the left tend to gravitate more to the middle than anywhere else. Unfortunately the folks with extreme views are the loudest and gain disproportionate attention.

Yes bgl, it is extreme to profess that an increase in atmospheric Co2 from 280 to 400ppm over 100 years is going to spell the end of time ! (0.028% to 0.04%)
If you read up a bit more on the subject you will also notice there are other gasses and fluids dissolved in the atmosphere that have much larger effects on temperature!
