If it screws up your computer, blame me. Everybody else does.

I already started complaining about you, just in case. Haven't your ears been burning? :D

Jerry, have you considered using Pages instead? It works about like Word Perfect with subtle differences and you may already have it.

I already downloaded the Trial of Parallels, so now I have to try it out. Unfortunately, I'm doing other things for a day or two. I'll keep Pages in mind. Thanks.

EDIT: Sounds good.

Parallels or VMWare. Partitioning the drive is an option, not a requirement. Either package can configure a Windows "partition" on your hard drive. A program like WordPerfect should run just fine. Yes, you need to install a Windows OS.

You can also run Windows programs with Boot Camp (app that comes with Macs) after partitioning your hard drive and installing Windows. If you have a newer Mac, the one of the emulators (Parallels or Fusion) should work ok. Check the MacRumors forum for suggestions.

I hope to get to it today - before my free trial expires.

The problem with Boot Camp is that you're either in OS X or Windows. VMWare and Parallels allow Windows to run concurrently with OS X, where OS X "owns the hardware" and passes Windows requests through. Switching between Windows and OS X is nothing more than a command key sequence. No rebooting necessary. And you can copy or save across the OS barrier.
