GE is Moving from Wisconsin . Keep your eye on Waukesha , Wisconsin ......Their biggest employer just moved out.
General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha , Wis. , to Beijing .
In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes - the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the United States .
So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs.
I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.
Thanks Jeff, you're a "real" American.... and give Obama our Best!
If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does.
Please pass this information to others and think about it before you buy a GE product.

obviously Bush's fault
Oh By the way, the reason GE paid no tax is they followed the tax code. You could do the same, so could I, if I had the money GE pays for tax lawyers.
And I agree on the quality of GE kitchen appliances. ( I know GE employees that do not buy them even with a GE discount)
GE however makes a wide range of products, from aircraft electronics ( avionics ) Combat electronics, Patriot Missle gozintas. Power generating equipment, medical equipment, finance companies, on and on.
If I remember correctly GE employs 300,000 folks in 100 nations

The rest of the story JakeBrake was trying to report on.
Firstly, this occured back in 2011.
The following is from Fairfield Conn.
:
http://www.ctpost.com/news/article/Setting-record-straight-on-GE-3498263.phpMore honest and open than SNOPES of all people, at least in their article they did admit that there article was not correct.
Letter writer John Francis' claim that GE has "moved out" of Waukesha, Wis., is incorrect. At the end of July 2011, GE Healthcare announced it would move four executives of the X-ray division to China to lead the development of specific products for use in China. Subsequent media reports inaccurately described the announcement -- GE is not moving its entire X-ray division to China.
The team on the ground in China will develop X-ray products suited to the specific needs of the Chinese market: for example, Chinese hospitals in rural markets require very basic products. This on-the-ground business development will help support jobs at home. GE's overall business in China -- across all divisions -- will support nearly 4,500 American jobs, including those along GE's U.S. supply chain.
In 2011, GE announced plans to open more than 8,000 new American jobs, bringing the total over 13,000 jobs since 2009. We will also build 16 new factories, including a locomotive plant in Texas -- the first such new facility in the United States in decades.

Real simple, be accurate in what you post. If you had read the SNOPES article you would have seen their retraction and also you would have seen that this happened back in 2011.
Hmmm same here doesn't matter who I vote for!!! Same result!!!!

I'm sorry but I couldn't find any clause in the GE corporation papers claiming to be formed as "Non-profit".
Damn that Bush family! Probably fixed in Florida! What difference does it make! Lets just take another vacation and think of this, oops forgot the dog, send a jet for him..................forgot the other dog, Hillery, send a jet for her too.
The tax codes are written for the rich. Both parties are responsible for the laws. Both parties take money from the corporations that promote the tax laws. It's not and has never been a party issue.
Obama is doing what ALL people of wealth and privilege always do. And yes, Bush did it and every president from Washington to Obama. It's a perk of the office. Stop b*tching about it and understand it. Voters put the rich into office and voters can take them out. If you don't like it, then don't vote for any of them because all of them take this perk as part of the office they hold.

General Electric, or GE, is an American multinational conglomerate corporation incorporated in Schenectady, New York and headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. Wikipedia
not an employee of GE, do own stock, not all bad is coming from GE. New commercial battery plant in Schenectady, NY far outweighs the x-ray loss. The new GE
Locomotives, made in the USA Are envo friendly and selling exceptionly well.. Sorry to say X-ray is "old" technology and is only innovative in it's applications . lGE Global Research & Development in a suburb of Schenectady is continually expanding from which is coming cutting edge technology, often licensed to other companies.. I'm no fan of O'bama or Jeff, but this is global economics, 2013. Simple fact, my investments overseas are giving me a greater return than domestic.
GE recently sold two plants in our area, it's Plastic Plant, purchased by SABCI and it's silicone plant to Momentive. Both plants now employ more workers than when GE owned them. Terrible economic blow for an area. Maybe someone like Phillips, Siemans or Schlumberger will look at your plant.

If you should mad at any one it should be Al Gore. He invented the
internet and thusly made it a global economy.

Around the turn of the century, wonderful GE Locomotives division had to go to court and force the RR's to purchase their product because of the monopoly GM had over them. Reason for the monopoly, their locomotives sucked big time. I've worked on locomotives for 34 years and was a conductor for the last 5 years before retiring and during most of that time GE locomotives were $hit. Crews and RR hated the GE loco's.
Since 2005 GE's have improved but time and again, GE would say our engines are good and would demand to have them tested against the GM (General Motors Locomotive division) only to have their engines as dead weight and being towed as to working.
That's the problem we face in America, the price of stock is more important than an actual real working product.
