Galactic Clusters

As opposed to the Globular Clusters which number only about 150 objects, the so-called Galactic Clusters number in the thousands. Presented here are three such objects. Notice that they have at least one star that is and orange coloration. Astronomers still do not know why this is so and is one of the many questions about our universe.
NGC 3293 in the constellation Carina, lies at a distance of over 8000 light years and if you look very close you might be able to see a very faint red glow at bottom of image and another just to the right of the cluster. This red glow is part of the Eta Carinae nebula complex and is composed chiefly of hydrogen gas.
NGC 3766 in Centaurus lies at 5600 light years. It lies in a vry rich field of faint stars.
NGC 4755 in Crux the Southern Cross is a well known Galactic Cluster and goes by the name "The Jewel Box". The stars are very bright and it contains a bright orange star as well. This cluster is visible as a faint fuzzy dot to the unaided eye, but in even the smallest telescopes it reveals it's true splendor.
