I really don't remember. The owner said but at my advanced age I don't remember a lot of stuff.
I think Ive posted this previously but thought this is appropriate to post again. There are 3 signs of growing old. 1. Have a hard time remembering stuff. 2. ??????? Oh! I forgot what the other 2 are. Anyway, great model plane and photo.
I do not know what model it represents, and the motors are electric not internal combustion, fuel type engines as was the case of most of the model at the show.
I thought this AC was amazing in that it was not built from a commercial kit but was totally built by the owner as were (we were told) the electric motors that powered it and the ones that powered the turrets.
I was skimming and just looked at the first two images, thinking that it was a full sized plane. The final image puts things into perspective doesn't it? Nice!
We've got a model airplane facility near us...Bomber Field near Monaville, Texas. This is definitely NOT a balsa-wood, tissue-paper and rubber-band operation and it becomes apparent when you see what's in the parking lot...we're talking MONEY! When you see all the "toys" these rich boys play with, makes you glad that Obama has not yet run all the rich folks out of this once-great nation...yet...yet. These folks also know how to maintain and handle these works of art. Wow!
Wow, what a plane. I've always admired the B17. I was lucky enough to encounter "The Aluminum Overcast" when she visited Tulsa. She stayed at the Jones Airport in Jenks near where I live. I caught her reposing all alone so caught these photos of her elegant lines.
She appears to be similar generation as the model as has the gun mount under the nose like the model does.
What a shame it was a good looking model. Also saw a video of a C-17, 747 and a not so good video of the fastest model in the world. The photographer couldn't keep it in the frame or in focus.

If it was the one in England, it crashed and burned on a later flight. Such a shame. Had internal turbojet engines so perfect scale.
