That's beautiful. The silver flower caps it off wonderfully. I wish I could... but maybe someday.... Anyhow, Thanks
Thank you, Mercer. I suspect you already have. LOL...

Great Photo, would you care to share how you made it...???
Sure vooda, I'd be happy to. I used a Canon 5D2, a Canon 100mm Macro II f/2.8L IS, 100 iso, f/2.8, 1/2 second. I have a black muslin backdrop and the wine glass was sitting on a 2'x4' sheet of black Lexan plexiglass from ebay. Lighting was with a 100 watt daylight CFL bulb shot through a white umbrella about six feet back on the right at a 45 degree angle and a small led variable adjustable video light on the left side. Shot in Raw, processed with Canon Digital Photo Professional software, slightly fine tuned with PS Elements then put through Smart Photo Editor to give it a very slight quasi-hdr effect. My basement is very dark. If there's anything else you want to know, please feel free to ask.

I've been urged by a few uhh friends to submit the winning image of the Still Life contest for broader viewing. Not wanting to bore you folks with it, I will post it because it gives me an opportunity to give my thanks and appreciation for the man who runs the contests. When they first started I gave them a week but the gentleman who runs the contests is obviously no ordinary man and the contests have become like the Energizer bunny - they just keep going. Thanks St3v3M, for all your effort. It adds an element of enjoyment to the forum for many members to have contests to participate in. Many thanks to the other participants and especially those who voted.
I'd also like to congratulate the other winners and the ones who didn't win this time around. There were some mighty gorgeous images in the lineup and I am absolutely surprised that my image came out the winner but I never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Very well done and a well composed image. I looked through the entries and found that most of them were of close-ups of flowers, yours was truly a still life. Congratulations!

Excellent planning and execution. Doing a great still life is harder than it appears, Pros always make it look easy. Than ks for doing this and sharing it. I would have missed it otherwise.

Thank you, MagicFad. My grandpappy raised hogs when I growing up in Arkansas. I learned early on that it's often very hard to herd a big bunch of hogs. :)
