Like JR1 i prefer to have the hard copy.Wishing to upgrade however was going to cost a fair bit and i also wanted PFD editing software. Now i getall Adobe products for $20 a month and all future updates are free. Not bad. Also I belief you will no longer be able get photoshop on disk. In attempt for google to stop piracy all future product will only be offered via the net.

I assume you are happy with the service that you now pay $20 for? That is what I was looking for in my question. I just wanted someone who used the service to offer their opinion. Thanks ever so much.

Ken, First off, hope all goes well for your son with the new business project. Tough to get off the ground, but if he provides good repair and great customer service, he has a good chance over time.
About CC, though, I am in my second year with Adobe on this. The first year, I was a student (but also unemployed, and in my mid-40s). So my rate was $19.95/month. This year, I wasn't able to get that, since I am now out of school, but at $29.95/month for the whole suite, I still consider that a bargain. And, when I factored out this cost against a periodic boxed upgrade, it comes out a little bit higher but there is a lot more customer service and updates along the way. I have been much happier with CC.
As someone said earlier, you only have to have an internet connection periodically (about once a month), so that the Adobe link can verify there is an active subscription. The program itself is located on your computer, and your files can be located either on your computer (as normal), or can be saved on the cloud. I wouldn't get rid of the older version you have, as you can have both on your computer, while you decide.

Forrest thanks for your comments and info. I believe I will take the plunge. I just wanted to hear from a few folks who have tried it. Thanks again.

Not sure where I got "Ken" from, but I agree, I also will consider you to be "John". *smile* Just be sure you don't get rid of your previous program, until you know that CC suits you. You can keep both without conflict between the two.

Great to hear about the $9.95--and how they handle several computers--something about the whole thing I don't like--but I think that is what Joan of Arc said when they led her to the stake

Why do people want photoshop, when even pros use elements

I know a bunch and not ONE uses elements. I am not saying Elements cannot be sued, but even with recent improvements, it is still a crippled program. Oh can I say "crippled?" How about binary challenged?

Yes I had planned to keep my old software. I use two laptops to work on and I have my existing s/w on both. Thanks for the info.

I have c.cloud, I think it is great value. I had l.room 4 and cs5 which gave me a bit of a deal for the 1st year, at this point I will have no problem paying full price next year. Great Value.
