Has anyone signed on for this? I can afford $20/month. All I want is Photoshop. I am assuming that all future upgrades and fixes will be free of charge as long as you are a subscriber.

Being on SS causes me to have very limited discretionary money. That and the fact that my son (who lives with me) was laidoff in Mar. '12. He is trying to get a car repair business going but it is slow. Anyone living in the area that needs car repair let me know. He is very very good and cheap.

I am much the same way JR1. I buy used library books so I can have a hardcover which I prefer much more than paperback. I am the same way with software. That is the reason that I am asking other because it goes against what I have done my whole life.

I haven't but I might. I'll have to look into it. I thought it was more than $20. That's reasonable. Hope your son gets lots of work. Once he does a few jobs, word of mouth goes along way. You might try Craig's List also.
Let us know how you make out with PS. Peace and good luck, Ray.

Thanks Ray. It is more if you want the entire Creative Cloud suite. I just want Photoshop and that is $19/month. That I can afford the $500 o $700 retail I can't.

Again thank you for your good wishes.

That is a good point about availability. I have a cell modem on my laptop and have had it for 6 years now and I haven' had a problem so far. Cross my fingers eh? LOL

That is also a good point. I have Elements 11 which my boys bought for me. I just use it sparingly and do most everything in Capture NX2.

I use Elements and PaintshopPro 7, I use them both professionally.

I know of people in the local camera club who have Photoshop and even though they won't admit it, it is a status symbol to them, to me it shows stupidity on their part

I have been shown how to due some things in PS layers that I have not been able to duplicate in other software. I don't have anyone to brag to so that is not my intent. LOL

If you are a registered owner of CS6, the first year of PSCC is $9.99 per month. But you have to ask for it, they do not advertise and won't mention it when you talk to a rep to sign up.

The misconception is that PS is not on your computer. It is a full working copy on your computer, not a program you have to access on the cloud. Only the subscription is cloud based, meaning to use PS that is on your computer, PS verifies once a month that your subscription is valid.

You can put Photoshop on as many computers as you want, only 2 computers can actively use your subscription at any one time. The other computers software is deactivated. If you start using PS on a deactivated computer, it warns you that it will deactivate one of the other computers so you can use your current computer. That is a pretty simple way to access many computers than the older model, where you had to activate and deactivate manually yourself over the internet to Adobe.

Yes I was aware of that jdubu. My version of PS is version 5. It is about 15 years old and will not load on my laptop because it does not work with Windows 7. Thanks for the input though.

Like JR1 i prefer to have the hard copy.Wishing to upgrade however was going to cost a fair bit and i also wanted PFD editing software. Now i getall Adobe products for $20 a month and all future updates are free. Not bad. Also I belief you will no longer be able get photoshop on disk. In attempt for google to stop piracy all future product will only be offered via the net.
