Regardless of who it was, the sad truth is that many of the poeple that call themselves Christians believe we shouldn't help the poor or the sick. They believe everyone should carry a gun and that it's okay to commit murder. They believe that war is good and money is their god.
To all those folks all I can say if you believe that Jesus is coming back, I can tell you he will be pissed when he does.

Well no wonder, I get it now. If Christianity was as you define it I'd hate it too. The problem is you have it all wrong, but you go ahead and believe whatever you want.

Why would you want a "devout Christians" to chime in? Was the person who quoted that line a devout Christians? Would you know a devout Christians when you meet him? Sorry for the questions but one more... in your opinion, what is a devout Christians?

Puke away, then !

I don't disagree with the statement at all. I disagree with the notion that we (USA) are somehow not helping the poor and disadvantaged. This county (USA) is easily the most generous and giving country on the planet. The people of the US have shown their care and generosity time and time again and your implication makes me want to puke! What we complain about is the waste in government and the FACT that government can't find away to run a successful welfare program without widespread rampant abuse. We often find ourselves buying flat screen TVs instead of food and medicine. Okay end of rant, sorry.

I have met a few truly devout Christians, including folks who devoted their lives to being medical missionaries in China. They did good without doing well, and they NEVER tried to proselytize, They taght by example.

The poster hardly has it all wrong. This country is full of "devout" Sunday Christians who go to church mostly for the tasty potluck after the service.

But I think that is straying from the purpose of the post. Who said what I have quoted ?

But let's give the good, devout Christians here weigh in a little more before I give the attribution.

Why mock good devout Chrisitians? If you wish to mock Christians, mock the bad ones who aren't devout. 8-)

We could wait in artificial suspense, or we could just acknowledge that the first respondent got it right five minutes after your original post. It was Elizabeth Colbert Busch' brother who made this quote in December 2010.

Strange, the many Christians I know do not feel this way at all.

It must be easy to post such sweeping absurd contentions. 8-)

Do you feel proselytizing is wrong? You do it in here continuously. 8-)

All we have to do is examine the posts of the "Christians" in this forum, and I think you would find evidence that the poster is accurate.

Really? Come on Richard, get real here.

First of all you have to assume someone posting here is a Christian. Assuming someone is anything, or telling the truth, in an Internet full of trolls puts you on dangerous ground.

Be that as it may, you contend by examining posts of these supposed Chrisitans we will find evidence that Frank is accurate in that: Many people who call themselves Christians believe the poor and sick shouldn't be helped, everyone should carry a gun, murder is okay, war is good and money is their God.

Talk about ridiculous! Continuously using labels, tags and generalizations does little to advance your point of view.

But okay, show me some of these "post's" you have examined for evidence to prove accuracy for what Frank and now you contend. Since you speak of this evidence I am sure you have it, let's see it. 8-)
