I recently purchased a SX50. I have taken 50 or so JPEG/RAW I have PS7 & E8 which would be best suited for PP RAW. This is my first attempt at RAW. Thanks Larry

Did you use the "search" facility for "processing raw"

http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/search.jsp?q=processing+RAW&u=&s=0

Saves the same questions being answered time and time again

I would start the processing with Canon's DPP software that is on the CD. The versions of the other programs you have 'might' not recognize the CR2 files from the SX50.

JR1;

Why don't you just go down to the pub, have an ale and CHILL OUT. Your constant harping on this is really annoying.

Yeah, he is.
Don't think an ale would be enough.
Maybe a Valium?

Doesn't he realize that a forum is designed for positive interaction between people? If everyone used the search button or googled everything a forum would not be needed, nor would JR1 have anyone to lecture. Ironic. 8-)

Can't be a racist when I have no idea what ethnic background you are!

Should I have said "Go down to your local drinking establishment, have a fermented malt beverage and CHILL OUT"???

elements 8 works canon raw fine. You can also use the canon software digital photo professional on your camera instalation disk or download it from canon.

RAW is not difficult to use - it is simply a matter of sliders and a little experimentation. Remember if you double click a slider in pse8 it returns the setting to its original level - so go wild and learn what it does at the extremes double click and start again. simple. if you muck it up simply close file without saving and re-open it again. plenty of good advice on using pse available online. enjoy!!!!

We are always here to help. Some people are not comfortable with searches or are unsure how to phrase their query and we can assist with their questions. But it also seems like some folks are perfectly willing to pose questions and let others do the work. Instead perhaps they could spend a bit of time researching on their own first, and then ask us for more details or clarification. When I started to get seriously involved with digital photography several years back I spent a lot of time reading and searching forums such as this in order to learn as much as I could, and then posed questions for further clarification and opinion. Sometimes I see people asking a question that's already been answered in the same thread!

I don't think that you can classify him as racist JR.
Now if he said "Hey you white honky bastard, why don't you go and get pissed", then you might be able to call him racist but he didn't allude to any genetic or cultural variation at all. Even if he is anti UK I still don't think that classifies as racist as there is a wide genetic and cultural variation in both the UK and USA. They are both melting pots of many.
So apparently it is more a personal thing than a racist thing. So if we take the race card straw man out of it now we can look at the true issue which seems to come back to the words he actually typed.
JR, maybe he has a point. Maybe it is in the way that you say it that raises peoples ire?
