It seems fishy for a reason. That seller is a very well known bait-and-switch internet scammer. Please do not consider buying anything from them, you will definitely regret it if you do.

No I have not dealt with them and I wasn't suggesting them. My only purpose was to show the lens hood and the claim that you could put a filter on this lens. Some had said it doesn't accept filters. I find that surprising and still don't know.

I got the impression it was a gray market offer, though. That is, no Nikon US warranty.

Im looking to add to my aresenal of zoom lenses ( i currently have Nikon 24-70 F2.8 and the 70-200 F2.8 VR2 and the latestSigma 150-500 ) this time in the wide angle dept

any insight or expierience with the following : Nikor
14-24 F2.8
16-35 F4
17-35 F2.8

They are all relatively close in price I know the 14-24 wont accept filters but short of that what can you tell me as for Quality and IQ

Iam currently using a crop sensor Nikon d 7000 but prefer to stick with FX lenses as perhaps someday i may go full frame ( see if and what the rumoured d400 is like ) who knows maybe a D600 or 800

uses would obviously be landscape as well as some tight quarter indoor shooting

Just picked up a used macro rail so time to go play with the 105 for a bit

Thanks in advance for your help

Oh PS someone mentioned we should have UHH t-shirts - could we add a decoder ring to that as well ?

I have the 16-35mm. It is an excellent lens and compares to both of the others optically, w
here you won't notice the difference. It isn't as fast as the other two, but it is way more affordable. I don't have the need for 2.8, as I shoot a lot of scenic and natural history subjects.

Here is an article someone posted about the 14-24 vs 16-35. Having the change lenses is always a slowdown in shooting and allows for dust to get into the camera. This would be a plus for the 16-35.
