What Should We Do About Climate Change ?

Should we have strong FEDERAL action to protect us from the worst effects of climate change ? Or should we leave this to the states ? When climate change causes massive storms that decimate cities and counties, should the Federal Government help people there get back on their feet ?

Some of the folks who expressed real dislike of the federal government were certainly happy to have federal help after disaster hit them. (They have principles -- but these can be bought.)

Climate change is a natural occurrence that has been going on as long as this planet and others have existed. Ice ages and warming cycles. Get over it. Global warming caused by man is a ridiculous idea. Yes carbon emissions could contribute but nowhere near in say 200 years the effect of one large volcano. The sky is not falling. The EPA in it's bloated Federal waste of money programs would do well to worry about water quality and certain toxic air pollutants but coal emissions to generate power are the least of their worries. Besides the EPA governs emissions in our country only. The rest of the world such as China, Russia, Indonesia, and India will burn more coal combined that the US is not even a blip on the radar. Find something else to loose sleep over. Like what the Royal couple will name their inbred baby. Say hello for me to Al Bore at your next family reunion.

Cancer is a natural occurrence, too. But if you got it, I bet you would go see a doctor and try to get cured.

If there was a definite cure. Sure. But medicinal treatments are often experimental and the results are not known for years. Sometimes the treatment works and sometimes not. Sometimes the treatment is worse than the disease. BTW, you might want to keep up with MSNBC in case the inbred baby gets a name. I know I'll loose sleep over it.

THANK YOU, Richard. Too bad more people can not see it for what it is . . . Nature at work. Can the government fix it ? Seriously . . . How can a body of people, whose communication process is based on lies, fix something that isn't broken ? Let's face it, periodically the planet undergoes huge changes, species die, new ones spring to life. I would not be surprised if the next casualty were mankind, leaving an opening for a new, more benevolent species.

"If there was a definite cure" ? How gullible do you think readers in this forum are ? If you were diagnosed with cancer, you'd be at the doctor's office in a flash, definite cure or not !

Climate change dogma is not dissimilar to the cancer pharmaceutical industry. A cash cow multi billion dollar PROFFIT enterprise with no cure...

Your analogy is a false one.

“Please remain calm: The Earth will heal itself — Climate is beyond our power to control…Earth doesn’t care about governments or their legislation. You can’t find much actual global warming in present-day weather observations. Climate change is a matter of geologic time, something that the earth routinely does on its own without asking anyone’s permission or explaining itself.” — Nobel Prize-Winning Stanford University Physicist Dr. Robert B. Laughlin, who won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1998, and was formerly a research scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
