Great story! I love the theaters. We were in a drive-in theater when I proposed! It seemed like the right thing to do! Ha! All kidding aside we're married 57 years. Best thing I ever did!

Dlevon, yes, that was a funny incident at the drive-in. We really messed with the guys that night. Every time they reached a point to where we were originally parked they would turn around, we'd beep the horn very briefly, they'd turn around again and this went on for a while. Odd thing, for about one month after that no one ever wanted to leave the car, no matter where we were. Can't imagine why?? How great to hear that you've been married for 57 years! It's so rare to hear that . You obviously chose the right one. May you both have many more wonderful years ahead of you. Cheers!

There is a drive-in about five miles down the road from me-the Sparta Drive-In. It has been in operation for at least 50 years or more. It runs only only on summer weekends and shows current movies. It's always full on Friday and Sat. nights.

Thanks lollipop! And we only knew each other a week. I was on a three day pass in the army. I guess what you get is what you get. We were very lucky.

Dlevon, that's amazing! My friends parents only knew each other two weeks before they married, and they were married for over 30 years until her father passed. I guess when it's the right one it doesn't matter how long you've known each other. Again, congrats! You were blessed to find each other.

Yes, it would! I went there a couple times way long ago in my teenage years. We haven't been there these days, though. I think I've outgrown them. Mostly they are parents with children and they sit in chairs more than in their cars.

Thanks Wabbit! My Mom use to work at a Drive in Theater near our home many, many, many years ago. I can remember one time when I was in High school taking my 57 Chevy Hard top and stuffing 3 guys in the trunk along with other friends in the car. We were ratted out by some stuffy people when they saw my friends coming through the rear seat into the car. LOL We got thrown out. I think we still have one or two around here in Colorado. Cheers.

Yepee, sure do. Here in Crawford County Illinois the only one we had here went bye bye years ago. Went there in high school and after until it shut down.

There is still one in neighboring Jasper County Fairview Drive-in: 618-455-3100 located on Route 33, 5 mi east of Newton, IL. Gone are the old window speakers. Use the car radio or bring another. Right now the owners are trying to raise enough money, $60,000.00 for a new digital projection system so it can remain open.

Only problem is the list is outdated for Utah. Only a couple now exist. None in the county of Utah in Utah.

How about a spell checker while you are talking to the powers that be?
