Yes siree, there were some good times at the drivein. My friend had a convertible car. When we went in there were two people in it with the top down. Once parked in the back, the magic happened. The top went up, then back down and shazam now there were five people. Yeah man there were lots of steamy windows and missed movies.

Our family went to drive-in movies a lot, as a kid in south Florida.

More recently, a local drive-in was converted into a weekend flea market. The speakers were still there, along with the rolling parking lot--higher areas for viewing, lower areas for driving.

I loved the old drive in theatres! I recall one time going with my ex-husband and another couple, and the guys went to the concession stand for refreshments in the midst of the movie. I suggested to my sister-in- law that we have some fun and move the car while they're gone. So I moved it quite a few rows back and further over and we laughed hysterically watching them walk all around the lot with food and beverages in hand looking for the car. Thinking about it still brings a smile to my face. :D

There is a delete button ... It's called "Edit" and shows up under your post. Just make corrections, or delete completely by inserting a "." or similar character.

I've used the edit feature before, but when I tried to delete the accidental post by replacing with a quotation mark or other character it kept the symbol but didn't delete the post. So I left it as is. I'll just be more careful in the future. Thanks Mr. Wilson.

Love the reminder of drive-in movies. What great times we had there.
A friend of mine told me they found a drive in while on vacation in northern MI a few years ago. While they were watching the movie a cow sauntered up and was watching them through the window.
Thanks wabbit.

Great story! I love the theaters. We were in a drive-in theater when I proposed! It seemed like the right thing to do! Ha! All kidding aside we're married 57 years. Best thing I ever did!
